All About the Role: The Demand Planner is responsible for developing and managing the organizational demand plan for CDI sales channels to maximize revenue opportunities through strategic analysis and recommendations. Position Summary This position reports to the Work Management Manager and supports the field personnel who perform construction and maintenance activities for substation and transmission line assets. The Planner is responsible for the preparation of work packages to perform both Construction and Maintenance activities. The Planner will review the maintenance/performance history of the equipment to identify and determine special requirements necessary to successfully complete the work. The Planner will identify any additional maintenance work or capital projects that could be worked concurrently to gain resource efficiencies. The Planner will document and explain variances in the actual job task work hours versus estimated job task work hours. The Planner must closely monitor the progress and status of work and is responsible for raising issues to schedulers and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to improve efficiencies. The Planner may also be required to ensure accurate completion of NERC related documentation. The Planner also works closely with the construction resources and resources within Transmission Project Management to plan, estimate, and allocate resources to all projects assigned to the Transmission Construction Section. This requires first-hand knowledge of Construction activities or the ability to draw on resources within the Construction Section to gain that knowledge. Track component age and condition using the Pronto CMMS. Create and manage Bills of Materials (BoMs). Maintenance Strategy & Execution Maintain accurate routine maintenance data in Pronto. Create and manage work orders and requisitions. Expedite parts and labor as needed. Budgeting & Cost Control Assist in developing the annual budget using Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB). Provide cost and component updates for budget reforecasting. Reporting & Analysis Report monthly on key performance indicators: availability, MTBF, component usage, and cost. Analyze historical data to support lifecycle planning and budgeting. Collaboration & Compliance Liaise with suppliers and contractors. Ensure compliance with company and government policies. Provide input and adhere to the Oceana Asset Management Framework (AMF). Qualifications Required 5-10 years of maintenance experience (preferably in mining). 2+ years of experience in computer-based planning/scheduling. Valid driver's license. Technical qualification in Engineering or Asset Management (highly regarded). Preferred Direct experience with underground mining equipment, especially Sandvik, Normet and Caterpillar. Technical Skills Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Pronto, and Xeras (or similar ZBB tools). Familiarity with planning tools such as Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), BoMs, and work packs.
