Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Workface Planner Piping/Mechanical will be responsible to prepare Installation Work Packages (IWPs), Material Take-offs (MTO) & Test Work Packages (TWPs) for specific disciplines and will also support office construction activities, such constructability reviews, ensuring safety in design, providing construction's input to engineering and procurement teams that improves Total Installed Cost (TIC) on the projects. #LI-BH1

What role you will play in our team
We are seeking Senior Business Planner to join us in various roles within our gulf coast manufacturing locations, specifically Baton Rouge, LA.
Our Senior Business Planning Engineer supports the Site's Capital Project portfolio by providing technical and leadership expertise in business case development and economic evaluations. In addition to capital projects - the role provides technical mentorship for junior engineers while also supporting day-to-day operations by helping to prioritize capital projects. You will think strategically and collaborate across many teams, levels and situations to facilitate capital investment strategies.
What you will do
* Assess opportunities consistent with business strategies, plans and needs that might support a project
* Lead the identification of potential business options that would address the opportunity or need; make preliminary competitive assessments
* Coordinate development of scoping cost & schedule estimate, working with other organizations as appropriate
* Ensure base case optimization, and then develop economics & business case including the potential impact of appropriate market and other material sensitivities on project viability
* Lead and/or perform process optimization studies to identify or evaluate capital or operational cost savings, process configuration alternatives, safety facilities requirements, etc.
* Lead / facilitate / support Project Gates and coordinate development and approval of any Gate Forms and/or Appropriation Requests.
* Provide facility engineering input and output requirement to ensure adequate definition to meet safety, reliability, and operability requirements
* Develop Project Objectives & Strategies and ensure adequate documentation, communication & adherence throughout project development
* Ensure progression of capital project portfolio is consistent with project schedule and level of technical definition appropriate with both the stage of the project and the Project Objective & Strategies
* Engage with assigned Business Teams and GBUs (as needed) to understand Site/Business Team priorities and align on capital project prioritization within assigned Site
* Participate in activities, both informal and formal (e.g. technology days, strategic planning studies), to identify potential project opportunities

I. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, and analysis of the required level of planning, including applicable QA/QC requirements for jobs
Conducts field walk-downs to identify and document job requirements, including any specific safety hazards that may be encountered during the execution of work.
Develop comprehensive work packages that include man hours, required crafts, equipment, external resources, parts, materials, and any associated engineering or technical documentation, specifications, and drawings.
Perform queries in SAP
Provide off hour support for maintenance issues, materials, or services as necessary.
Create and maintain job plans for repetitive maintenance activities.
Provide planning and support for equipment outages, unit shutdowns, and plantwide turnarounds.
Able to accurately measure the maintenance backlog in its various forms and continually maintain no less than 2 weeks' work of ready backlog.
Monitor the lifecycle of work orders, up to and including, close-out when work is complete.
Maintain a professional image and follow all relevant John H. Carter Co., Inc. policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Assumes responsibility for your communication efforts, both internal to JHC and external, to ensure that all parties/stakeholders have a clear understanding as to accuracy and timeliness requirements
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or special projects as assigned
Able and willing to work on-call and off shift as required by customers or management
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Work collaboratively with development staff and support staff to maintain thorough knowledge of product capabilities, and to ensure that all communications between John H. Carter Co., Inc. and its stakeholders are precise.

II. Competencies

Core Skills
Must be able to analyze existing and proposed equipment for applicability of the selected equipment in the intended application
Must have extensive knowledge of industrial instrumentation and their applications
Must be proficient with SAP, Primavera P6, Excel, and Outlook
Must be able to understand and interpret technical drawings such as P&IDs, Loop Drawings, manuals, wiring diagrams, and guides
Associates degree in Industrial Instrumentation or related field is preferred.
Must exhibit highly professional communication skills
Must have excellent organizational skills
