Qualifications/Education/Memberships: * AICP certification required. * Master's degree in Planning required; candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Planning and substantial professional experience demonstrating comparable expertise will also be considered. * Minimum 6 years of experience in public or private sector planning while demonstrating increasing responsibility. * Experience with environmental review regulations (NEPA, CEPA, SEQRA, etc.) * Proficiency in demographic, housing, and economic data analysis. * Familiarity with Connecticut and New York land use, zoning, and planning policies and programs. * Excellent writing and communication skills. * Ability to collaborate with technical staff (engineers, scientists, GIS analysts). * Valid driver's license. * Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. * Familiarity with sustainable development, Smart Growth, and transit-oriented development principles. * Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Excel and Esri ArcGIS is preferred.
