Transportation Planner, Electric Fleet
Nevoya
Planner job in Corona, CA
Nevoya is North America's leading next-generation electric trucking carrier, transforming logistics through AI-native operations and relentless customer focus. The company builds and uses proprietary technology to deliver zero-emissions carrier services to Fortune 500 shippers with superior economics and service to legacy diesel operators. The company has operations in California and Texas, and is backed by globally-renowned investors including Lowercarbon Capital.
About the Role:
Our Fleet Planner plays a central role in managing daily load planning, route optimization, and charging schedules across Nevoya's all-electric fleet. This position sits at the intersection of operations, dispatch, and analytics - balancing efficiency, cost, and driver experience while maximizing uptime and utilization for the fleet.
You'll use data and real-time insights to assign loads, schedule driver routes, and plan EV charging to ensure deliveries are on time and vehicles remain fully operational. The ideal candidate combines strong planning and coordination skills with an understanding of logistics, fleet operations, and electric vehicle charging dynamics.
What You'll Do:
Plan and assign daily routes and loads for electric trucks based on customer demand, fleet availability, and charging constraints.
Optimize routes to balance utilization, cost, and delivery performance while accounting for range, terrain, and available charging infrastructure.
Collaborate with dispatch and operations to ensure routes are executed smoothly and adjust in real time for delays, breakdowns, or energy constraints.
Monitor and forecast fleet charging needs; coordinate charging windows to avoid downtime and maximize truck availability.
Track key performance indicators including on-time delivery, empty miles, and fleet utilization.
Support the development and maintenance of planning models and route templates to improve predictability and efficiency.
Partner with product and engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation and smarter scheduling tools.
Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment on daily plans and operational updates.
Maintain planning documentation and continuously refine processes for scalability as fleet size and operational complexity grow.
Success in this role will look like:
Consistently high on-time performance and fleet utilization.
Reduced downtime from inefficient charge planning or scheduling gaps.
Improved alignment between dispatch, charging, and operations teams.
Data-driven planning processes that scale across multiple regions.
What You'll Bring:
3-5 years of experience in transportation planning, logistics, or fleet operations.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with an ability to make data-informed decisions under pressure.
Understanding of electric vehicle operations, including range, charging times, and energy management (preferred but not required).
Experience with route optimization tools or TMS platforms; comfort with Excel or Google Sheets for planning and reporting.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for cross-functional coordination.
Ability to adapt quickly, think critically, and stay calm in dynamic, high-volume operational environments.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field preferred.
Preferred:
Experience with electric fleet operations or sustainability-focused logistics.
Familiarity with systems such as Samsara or similar fleet tracking tools.
Background in load planning, dispatch support, or route optimization for regional or long-haul trucking.
At Nevoya, we believe diverse teams build better solutions.
We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all employees. We consider all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
If you're excited about our mission but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right candidate for this or another role.
