Our planning practice is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Planner to support a wide array of projects, including land use/zoning, urban revitalization, community and master planning, climate change/resiliency, transportation, and permitting support. Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team of planners, designers, engineers, and scientists on the design, presentation, documentation, and production of various urban revitalization, planning, and zoning projects. Responsibilities: * Conduct research on planning trends, policies, and best practices. * Assist in analyzing data related to demographics, land use, transportation, and environmental factors. * Provide support in the development and execution of planning projects. * Assist with the preparation of project documentation, reports, and presentations. * Participate in community engagement activities, including public meetings and workshops. * Assist in collecting and synthesizing public input for project consideration. * Utilize software tools to create maps and analyze spatial data. * Support the development of mapping materials and graphics for planning presentations and reports. * Assist with reviewing and interpreting local zoning codes, ordinances, and regulatory frameworks. * Contribute to conceptual level site planning and the analysis of proposed developments against planning policies and guidelines. * Draft and edit written sections of planning documents, including Urban Renewal Plans, Open Space and Recreation Plans, comprehensive master plans, corridor studies, and site-specific master plans. Qualifications: * Experience: 1-2 years minimum. * A bachelor's degree in planning, urban planning, geography, environmental studies, or a related field. * Proficiency in MS products (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point, etc.). * Familiarity with graphic design software and GIS tools is a plus. * Must be based in or willing to work from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island or Connecticut. * Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. * Ability to travel to public meetings, site visits, and public workshops as needed.
