Assists Deputy Director with negotiations on issues and conditions on behalf of the County with other stakeholders, including applicants, citizens, and other departments; presents routine and minor staff reports at public hearings before the Planning Commission, Zoning Boards, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Board of County Commissioners; assists Deputy Director in preparing regulation interpretations both orally and in writing; assists as staff liaison to task forces, committees, and advisory boards. Assists Deputy Director annd Building Official with the development review process by coordinating pre-application meetings and distributing plans for review by Planning, Building Codes, and other County departments. Coordinates and monitors building permit reviews for the Planning Division, performs site inspections, ensures all steps and requirements in development review process are met, and serves as staff liaison with applicants to ensure complete and efficient review process for building permits. Serves as a resource to internal and external stakeholders; networks with technical professionals through involvement in professional organizations and attending conferences, seminars and programs. Job Requirements Minimum Job Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Planning or other relevant field is required. A valid driver's license and good driving record is also required along with one year of experience in planning, zoning, or other relevant area or a Master's degree in a relevant field of study can substitute for experience. Preferred Job Requirements: A Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or other relevant field is preferred. Understanding of Love's software systems and processes to be able to diagnose issues and train both internal and field team members. Convert AutoCAD Files to the proper format for the floor planning software to ingest. Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with internal and external teams across the Love's organization.
