    A well established, 70 year old worldwide custom industrial manufacturing company is looking for a Purchasing Planner for permanent placement in their office and manufacturing facility in Arvada, CO. The company is a rapidly expanding OEM, and this position is a critical cross functional role that works with both the purchasing and planning teams. We are open for a range of skill levels from intermediate to senior, and you will have the opportunity to advance your skillsets with both Purchasing and Planning within the industrial equipment industry. Responsibilities include owning the processes involved with purchasing of outside services (x-rays, blasting, assembled parts, etc.) and raw materials. 50% is planning/category management (Moving inventory through the ERP, suppliers, and managing delivery of the PO) and 50% purchasing and placing orders using critical thinking and problem solving. The position has room for advancement within the company. Salaries are based on applicable skill level. There is optional OT on weekends and holidays as you choose, but not required. Employees are eligible for health and dental benefits on day one, and will also be able to take advantage of a 401K with 60% match up to 6% and tuition reimbursement for continued education. PTO 80 hours, plus 48 hours sick and holidays (14 in a calendar year). REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • 3+ years of experience in planning and/or buying within a manufacturing environment, preferably engineered-to-order (ETO) or make-to-order (MTO). • Experience in pump, compressor, or rotating equipment manufacturing a strong plus. • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.) and Microsoft Excel. • Commitment to safety. Oversee the Planning Divisions implementation and application of the mobility and accessibility master plans. Serve as liaison to the citys Recreation Advisory Committee. Coordinate public lands and natural resources management/conservation efforts and policies with internal and external stakeholders, to include those associated with the Community Wildfire Protection Plan and the Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. Support the current Planning team by guiding/mentoring their review of parks, open space, trails, landscaping, art and/or public lands and natural resource design elements within development applications, and by reviewing and processing such development applications as needed. Serve as project lead on land development applications, including site improvement plans, subdivisions, park master plans, and other land use entitlements by acting as the applicant's main point of contact and identifying and facilitating discussion about any development conflicts and issues. Ensure smooth and efficient processing of applications through effective communication, negotiation and facilitation. Conduct referrals to internal and external agencies, prepare staff reports graphic exhibits and present findings and recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council. Ensure proper follow-up of all approval criteria, conditions, plans, and inspections and coordinate resolutions, if needed, to achieve project compliance. Review and analyze major development projects for conformance with municipal, state and local laws, regulations, and design standards and guidelines. Analyze environmental, land use and development data and issues pertaining to the use and/or preservation of parks, trails and open spaces. Conduct research and/or special studies as directed by the Community Development Director or Planning Manager, or as issues require. Provide support to the Planning Manager as requested.
