Additionally, the supervisor prepares comprehensive environmental reports and analyses, defines the scope of work, and reviews environmental clearances and analyses conducted by both consultants and team members. These clearances encompass a variety of technical reports and specialized studies, including Wetland Findings, Archaeological Reports, Hazardous Waste Surveys, Wildlife Habitat assessments, Historical Concerns, Farmland Findings, and evaluations of Social and Economic Impacts. The supervisor ensures that all environmental mitigation commitments made during the clearance process are actively pursued and coordinates with state and federal resource agencies regarding transportation activities throughout the planning, design, construction, and maintenance phases. Furthermore, the supervisor reviews and provides feedback on proposals, reports, and regulations from other agencies, as well as on proposed environmental policies from the Department. To promote compliance and best practices, the supervisor also conducts training sessions for District employees in Design, Construction, and Maintenance, focusing on environmental issues to ensure that project development, construction practices, and maintenance activities are conducted in a manner that minimizes the risk of citations and violations.
