Plant and production manager job description

Currently, we are seekinga Production Plant Manager to become a part of the HIROTEC team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing all production operations including assembly, inventory control, production control, maintenance, and quality in support of the overall achievement of the established business plan goals and objectives.

Develop, review, and maintain budgets and expenses for materials, equipment, personnel, etc. Review the business plan frequently and address variances.

Plans production operations and staffing requirements, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems, optimize productivity, and improve product quality.

Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems for resolution to ensure lowest costs of operations and prevent operational delays.

Maintain the optimum profit levels consistent with customer requirements, company policies, and effective employee relations.

Responsible for 5S, Quality, On-time delivery, Safety, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing activities.

Other duties and projects may be assigned based on the operational objectives of the company.

Ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree and four years in senior management role in automotive/manufacturing environment. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills, in addition to proven computer skills required. Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of employees. Strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills. Must have a sound technical aptitude with a thorough understanding of stamping, automation, and manufacturing applications. SAP experience is preferred. A willingness to travel and work weekends/holidays if necessary.

1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
2. Consideration will be given to those with three (3) or more years of related experience in heavy civil construction or precast concrete plants as outlined in this job summary
3. Moderate level of proficiency operating Primavera 3 and 6 or MS Project
4. Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
5. Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
6. A demonstrated ability to multi task, be a self-starter, and have a passion for construction, precast concrete business and a job well done
7. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and utilize Construction Math concepts
8. Valid driver license for occasional, required travel
9. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
10. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables
11. Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind
12. Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects
13. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers

Compensation

This position offers a market-competitive wage and benefits package depending on candidate criteria and commensurate with role and responsibilities within the organization.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a fulltime position which regularly requires long hours and at times, extensive overtime. Normal hours are form 5:00pm - 4:30am.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required with a discipline in Management or Engineering. Relevant and sufficient experience, knowledge, and training will be considered equivalent.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in high volume, high mix manufacturing
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage in a fast-paced environment with cross- functional teams; direct, motivate and lead the teams
• General understanding of finance, cost and accounting principles
• Proven experience driving employee engagement
• Familiarity with engineering systems
• Experience working in Engineering, Quality or Materials Management
• Must be knowledgeable of general engineering and manufacturing processes
