• Responsible for month end closing processes to include SAP process order reconciliation, semi-finished and finished good material inventory reconciliation, review and analysis of variance accounts, and distribution of the month end financial reporting package. This also will include ensure proper accounting for spending in the appropriate periods and implementing processes to streamlining the accounting.
• Work with plant management to analyze and define a monthly financial forecast, lead the creation of models to forecast trends and study the plant's key performance indicators.
• Ownership of all financial processes for $50-75 million+ budget for the Charleston Plant.
• Primary liaison for the plant between internal/external auditors and accounting/finance, this will include implementation and continuous monitors of controls and processes to ensure proper accounting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Ownership for annual SAP standard updating and continuously work with the plant, supply chain and master data coordinators to ensure integrity of existing bill of materials, recipes and purchasing information records.
• In this position, you will help develop and strengthen Ingevity's financial systems while helping us stretch our business to a new level of world-class quality through further innovation and advancement in strategic financial management.
• Lead in the development of detailed plant budgets for the annual plan, track variances to the plan & work with plant management to drive cost reductions and improve profitability.
• Partner with process owners to develop/track financial metrics and validate assumptions for productivity improvement projects to ensure tangible savings are delivered to the P&L.
• Review of all centralized, outsourced finance functions impacting business unit.
• Guide continuous process reviews and suggest recommendations for improvements to ensure adequate internal controls and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and audit requirements.
• Lead and/or assist in ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as required by plant management and Corporate departments.

What you need to succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting is required

• CPA/CMA or in current pursuit of CPA/CMA is preferred

• 3+ years of Big Four (or similar) experience is preferred

• 5+ years' experience in Financial Reporting/Financial Analysis (Preferably in a manufacturing location)

• Strong understanding and knowledge of U.S. GAAP is required

• ERP experience required (SAP preferred), specifically product cost accounting

• Proficient PC Skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel

• Attention to detail & constant eye toward Improvement

• Ability to grasp and understand new programs and systems is a must

• Must work well with employees at all levels of Operations, Supply Chain, and Management

• 10% travel may be required

• This role maybe eligible for a hybrid work schedule (remote and onsite) after an initial onboarding period

• This role is eligible for relocation assistance to Charleston, SC.

We are currently seeking a seasoned Plant Controller to lead and manage plant accounting and controllership operations at a fast paced, high growth company. This individual is a key member of the accounting and operations team, and responsible for processes, operational improvements related to inventory management, counts, manufacturing overhead, accounting and reporting operations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of inventory and gross margin. The Plant Controller will report directly to the Principal Accounting Officer. This role is highly cross-functional and requires collaboration and significant partnership with a wide variety of teams across the business including IT, operations, logistics, manufacturing and purchasing.

The RoleLead the automation of an existing ERP system (SAP) to accomplish key strategic initiatives including job costing and a perpetual inventory system Drive financial ownership of the physical count and cycle counts at various locations include plants and warehouses Be a strategic partner with heads of cross-functional teams including logistics, manufacturing, supply chain, IT, purchasing and program management Establish and report against KPIs for the business Prepare respective balance sheet and income statement analysis for internal and external financial reporting and interface with internal and external auditors on SOX compliance and documentation Ensure undertaking of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including periodic stock counts and valuations Financial oversight on physical inventory - safeguarding of assets, carrying cost, cycle count, physical count adjustments and excess & obsolescence reserve Manage the standard costs, inventory valuation, cost accounting methodology, maintenance of product costs and the quarterly cost revision process Partner with various organizations to drive continuous improvements in business and IT processes Direct all division-wide financial activities, including payroll, general accounting, budgeting, inventory management at the companies' manufacturing locations and manage cost accounting related to bills of material, LCM, standard costing etc.Review business processes, identify risks and key financial controls requiring documentation for completeness, accuracy and SOX elements Support Sarbanes-Oxley implementation by reviewing internal controls for purchasing, and inventory management functions to ensure corporate compliance Manage the review, tracking and analysis of capitalized costs at the manufacturing locations

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance discipline. At least five years of experience in operations finance, demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing, material costing or equivalent and reporting to Operations Management experience. CPA and/or Master's preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in accounting applications, specifically INFOR SyteLine ERP as well as advanced skills in MSOffice applications. Highly level of integrity, excellent communication skills with strong team building and problem solving skills required.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to read and comprehend policies, procedures, instructions, etc., to write reports, to use logic and data to solve problems, to assess needs, to communicate effectively, and varying degrees of independence, judgment, and discretion. This position requires the physical ability to be mobile in an office and industrial environment, close support relationship with Operations Personnel , inspect and grasp materials, communicate clearly and effectively, visual acuity to process data and to listen with intent. Ability to travel periodically to support dual operating plant locations and perform routine audits in the two manufacturing facilities.
