Responsible for up-grading the effectiveness of maintenance personnel. Schedules and conducts meetings with instructions relating to maintenance skills, safety, and Company Policy. Ensure team members have the appropriate safety and health; accident prevention; and investigation training. Provide leadership in developing measures and practices that that prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA standards. Provide troubleshooting of production equipment to support manufacturing and maintenance operations. Respond to critical production down situations affecting manufacturing. Maintain Maintenance software database that controls all Preventative and Predictive Maintenance processes on facilities and equipment. Generate and maintain PM schedule. Responsible for all plant utilities and seeking ways to reduce costs. Complies with all Company Safety policies, procedures and rules. Education / Skills: Bachelor's degree required. Must have recent experience in a Manufacturing plant, preferably automotive. Excellent communication skills and must possess the ability to supervise and motivate employees in a team environment. Expert working knowledge of all machine components and integration. Proven mechanical aptitude for analytical problem solving. Working with engineering and quality to address problem areas and collectively come up and implement solutions.

Develop salaried and hourly maintenance personnel to ensure bench strength. Conduct performance appraisals, performance improvement and coaching of both salaried and hourly personnel. Utilize and promote the usage of the CMMS system to provide direction and assistance to maintenance personnel within the Paper Maintenance team. Promote growth of maintenance team by providing leadership in the development and implementation of: Root Cause Analysis Precision maintenance techniques Preventive maintenance programs Reliability improvements Analyze operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics including unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, Mean-Time-Between Failures, and maintenance related costs.     Seeking a high-quality Maintenance Superintendent at the Fremont Division. Responsibilities Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Facilities Superintendent will have primary responsibility for: * Managing three shifts of maintenance personnel, including but not limited to scheduling the shifts, reviewing maintenance personnel performance, assisting the HR manager and Operations Manager in hiring new personnel, determining appropriate staffing levels, and assigning maintenance tasks to qualified personnel. * Overseeing the Limble CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) work order and preventive maintenance system and making sure that work orders are appropriately prioritized, assigned, and completed. * Manage all projects in the plant related to plant equipment installations, overhauls, or large upgrades of existing equipment. Ensure projects are planned, adequately staffed and completed on time. * Working with operations to schedule preventive maintenance items requiring machine down time to complete. Ideally, when a machine goes down unexpectedly, the Facilities Superintendent will make sure that all associated PMs are completed before turning the machine back over to production. * Working with Production to ensure that breakdowns are correctly diagnosed and repaired and that when the machine is repaired, there is a maintenance turnover to the production crew explaining what the problem was, what maintenance did to rectify and what to watch for/do in the future to prevent the breakdown. * Work with corporate engineering on various projects in the plant. * Work with the Parts Coordinator to make sure that MRO inventories are appropriate. * Work with outside contractors to schedule various machine audits throughout the year and work with the outside contractors to make sure that we have contracts in place, safety training complete, insurance updated and supervise the work being performed to make sure it is completed to the terms of the contract/statement of work we negotiated with the contractor. * Identify training opportunities for maintenance personnel and develop individual training plans to include machine updates, latest technologies, tools, and troubleshooting techniques. The Maintenance Facilities Superintendent will be a member of the Division Management Team and will be responsible for relaying and ensuring that Divisional policies are implemented throughout maintenance. The Facilities Superintendent will be expected to maintain and develop departmental measurements aligned to the overall divisional strategy and vision and communicate them to the division management team. Essential Duties: In addition to a full complement of leadership skills - including the ability to lead teams in a union environment - it is also important for the Facilities Superintendent to bring knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling and personnel development. The candidate should be able to communicate effectively with seasoned maintenance professionals. Incorporating continuous improvement processes and best practices.
