The Role:
We are looking for our next Plant Manager within our METHOCELTM production facilities.
The Plant Manager will be responsible for site personnel, legal compliancy of assets, community relations, and achievement of business and corporate goals. The role provides strategic direction for the site, supports and establishes a productive culture, and is a key member of the business operations leadership team.
This position is located in Plaquemine, LA.
Compensation:
The current salary range for this role is estimated to be&170,000 -$230,000 . In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
What You'll Do:
Safety, Health, Environmental, Food Quality and Safety & Core Values
Establishes managing processes for advancing and ensuring consistency of Core Values (EHS/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People) across the site.
Ensures regulatory compliance across all core values including product integrity and food safety.
Leads identification and prioritization of risk reduction opportunities, establishes clear priorities and supports effective resourcing to drive improvement at the site. (EHS/PSM, Site security)
Leads relationship with local authorities including safety, food safety, health regulatory agency, customs, police.
Interfaces with iPark entities and manages relationships with site service suppliers.
Ensures follow up and consistency of pharma compliance protocols and continuous improvement plans.
Maintains positive community relations through active participation in local organizations.
Accountable for leading and managing the site's Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality and Food Safety Management Systems (ISO9001:2015, FSSC 22000) requirements.
Leadership and Management
Provide leadership that gives clear, consistent mission and direction in alignment with business strategy and priorities.
Establish and communicate clearly defined objectives.
Identify, measure, track and ensure achievement of critical success factors.
Lead and drive cultural change and continuous improvement.
Coordinate production, maintenance, distribution, warehousing, and cost improvement initiatives in accordance with corporate guidelines.
Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
Oversee production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of business.
Operations Strategy & Planning
Communication of business objectives, priorities and progress across the site.
Communication within Roquette off-site and above site.
Develops, implements and renews a 3-5-year site strategic plan, including a clear site vision, which supports the business and corporate strategy.
Leads site staff team in identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and aligning action plans with business strategy and anticipating future needs.
Productivity
Accountable for advancing Lean culture of continuous improvement (visual management, people, environment, site vision, empowerment, accountability, visual controls, performance dialog, structured problem solving).
Responsible for site's infrastructure capabilities, improvement and resource plans via evergreen 5-year plan.
Utilizes performance tracking metrics to drive execution.
Community/Industrial Relations
Establish and maintain good working relationships with local community, civic groups, other businesses and manufacturing operations within the industrial community, and political and legislative representatives.
Maintain close liaison with first responders and regulatory agencies to ensure that company meets its obligations as a corporate citizen in the community.
Morale, Talent Management & Capability Building
Develops people at the site (feedback, coaching, mentoring, delegation, difficult conversations, capability building).
Encourages employee's engagement and fosters empowerment and ownership through leader standard work practices.
Establishes and ensures the effectiveness of two-way communication processes across the site.
Manages staffing strategy (core/ variable, overtime management and labor planning).
Provides strategy and ensures effectiveness of the reward and recognition system across the plant.
Utilizes talent management processes and systems (succession planning, top talent, Individual Performance Plan).
What You'll Need:
Education:
M.Sc. degree in engineering or science with experience in either industrial biochemistry, pharma or food additives; or a Bachelor's Degree in engineering with 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Manufacturing experience which includes exposure to EHS, Quality, Food Safety/Pharma, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement systems and tools.
Experience in supervising people and leading teams.

Work Environment:
This role spends approximately 70% of the time in an office environment and 30% of the time in the plant environment.

Position Description: The Manufacturing Operations Director position's primary purpose is guiding the development of and directing day-to-day operations and supervising professional and support staff. Production Supervisors are responsible for supervising hourly employees engaged in all phases of the manufacture of all blow molded containers. Duties include safety, quality, customer service, housekeeping, training, performance management, plant productivity, labor utilization, warehousing, and control of raw materials. This is a night shift position with hours of 10:30pm-6:30am.
The primary duties of a Production Supervisor include:
Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices.
The majority of the time will be responsible for exercising authority and independent judgment on the shift in the interest of the Company to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline or adjust complaints or effectively to recommend such action by following established policies, procedures, and practices.
Responsible for the following shift functions; personnel training, development, safety, security, quality, inventory, good housekeeping, and general management of Company policies and procedures.
Resolves all production and resulting quality problems that occur on their shift. Responsible for frequent checks of product quality.
Accountable for providing shift documentation on decisions, shift issues, actions and status updates for the shift for the purpose of compliance and continuous quality improvement (CQI).
Attends all production meetings and safety meetings and conducts all shift meetings as required.
Responsible for reviewing and authorizing proper time records for all employees on the shift.
Manages temporary staffing assignments for the shift to achieve plant production and labor objectives.
Manages machine utilization to meet or exceed efficiency goals and recommends or directs necessary personnel, maintenance or engineering changes to help achieve those goals.
Develops new methods and procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiencies, maximize labor utilization, and reduce operating costs as part of CQI objectives.
Assists Production, Operations or Plant Manager in reviewing shift operations and makes recommendations relative to changes in operations, staffing, equipment, and procedures.
Assists performing all physical inventories in accordance with Company procedures.
Maintain a supportive and productive work atmosphere through professional conduct and effective communication with internal and external customers, including vendors, coworkers, subordinates, and other supervisors.
Participates in job safety training and personally follows all plant rules and work procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment is developed and supported.
Executes leader standard work as designed on a daily basis.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree and/or related operations experience; or equivalent combination of education and related operations experience is required. A minimum of 2 years' experience in an operations supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership skills strongly preferred.
Production Supervisors are required to interact with other managers, employees, vendors, and customers. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position:
Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Position Description: The Manufacturing Operations Director position's primary purpose is guiding the development of and directing day-to-day operations and supervising professional and support staff.
