What You'll Do:
Plant operations include batching, dispatching, quality control, inventory control, plant cleanup, plant mixer cleaning, and other duties as directed by management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Production of ready mixed concrete within specifications, and within parameters of maximum plant production capacity per company and manufacturers specifications - make sure drivers are loaded timely to meet customer needs.

* Order raw materials such as cement, fly ash, chemical admixtures, and aggregates through coordination with the Materials Manager.

* Perform various quality control functions i.e., moisture checks, slump tests, air entrainment tests and temperature tests that are congruent to company standards.
* Perform end of day cleanup at batch plant.
* Perform various plant maintenance tasks such as greasing, adjustments, cleaning bag houses and venting systems, shoveling and plant system checks.
* Assist in maintenance of computerized batching equipment, material handling and color computers and other misc. maintenance as required.
* Perform daily paperwork, including production reports as required.
* Wheel Loader Operations as necessary.
* Provide Back-up Batchman support to other local facilities or portable services during vacation and other absences.
* Required to drive Ready Mix or other duties on occasion to have steady employment.

Handles high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders. Prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling. Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possible contaminants.
Performs basic cylinder maintenance such as painting cylinders, labeling cylinders, and cleaning of work area.
Inspects cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards. Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves. Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards.
Checks for cylinder quantities, styles and product, and/or assists with inventory
Manages paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Completes quality control sheets as required.

Requirements for Water Damage Lead:

Alternate 10-hour schedule may be offered, switching between 4 days on/4 days off and 5 days on/3 days off on a rotating schedule (approximately 2-12am) or or a similar rotation from 4am-2pm.
Starting Pay: $36.52/hour for the overnight shift
Scheduled pay increases (12/1/25: $37.22) Plus 0.80 cent differential

Requirements:

Border States Paving, Inc., a Fargo, ND based asphalt paving company is seeking an experienced Assistant Asphalt Plant Operator.
This is a seasonal, full-time position. Season runs approximately April-Nov
Key duties include:
Responsible for assisting the overall daily operation of a hot-mix asphalt plant with computerized Systems equipment. Duties include plant set-up and tear down, receipt and shipment of raw materials and asphalt products, manufacturing asphalt products, lab testing, inspection and record keeping and maintenance of the equipment in the plant. Must be willing to meet and follow all safety and company policy/procedure requirements. A valid driver's license is necessary to drive company vehicles and equipment. Extensive summer travel SD/ND
Wages: $32.25-$34.40 per hour plus $21.90 per hour fringe (covers Health insurance premiums, life insurance & Pension).
PLUS $350 weekly per diem (to use for housing of choice, most employees own campers)
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must possess at least two years of maintenance/repair at an asphalt plant. Previous experience operating as asphalt plant desired. Good mechanical repair skills, math skills and communication skills are necessary. Must have the ability to work in confined spaces. Skills in using computers for data entry and retrieval are needed.
