+ Operate all boilers and boiler auxiliaries in the power plant, including all types of equipment to support the entire facility
+ Support the organization and determination of boiler load and load distribution

About the role
The Control Room Operator leads and directs employees who, under the direction of the shift Supervisor, oversee and direct the operation of the facility. This position is responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis. Will respond to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions and execute plant shut-down and start-up procedures and ensure that the plant meets it's generating requirements while operating in a safe and environmentally efficient manner.
Responsibilities include:
Controls operation of station systems including but not limited to: steam generation, condensate, feed water, turbine/generator, circulating water, service water, fuel handling, ash handling, electrical, fire protection, air pollution control and various computer networks.
Understands and trains other Operators on the operating principles of the power facility's systems, components and steam cycles.
Reads and interprets meters, gauges, recorders and annunciators to determine system operating conditions; takes action within prescribed normal and emergency station operating procedures.
Adjusts and monitors temperatures, pressures, flow and levels on station primary system components for plant optimization.
Initiates and conducts periodic surveillance tests on station operating safety checks and tests on station operating conditions, takes action within prescribed normal, abnormal and emergency station operating procedures.
Maintains required logs and calculations; observes these logs for indications of faulty operation; notifies supervisor of abnormal system conditions.
Monitor operation of station systems and components including pumps, motors, valves, fans, dampers, grates, augers, conveyors, dust collections, etc.
Monitors operability of fire protection systems, emergency backup equipment, electrical supply equipment and instrumentation associated with station systems and components.
Monitoring air pollution control equipment
Accurately reading and recording data, and reporting equipment malfunctions or trends, which indicate possible equipment danger

Position Requirements:
To qualify you must have a valid Massachusetts Second Class Engineer's License or higher.
Associates Degree or equivalent technical training in power plantoperations, basic computer, oral and written communications skills, and problem solving and decision making ability.
You must be able to read Blueprints, P&IDs, and understand schematic specifications and vendor technical manuals.
All Control Room Operators must have strong leadership and motivational skills, and the ability to stay alert while sitting for long periods of time.
Must be able to work in all locations within the plant, in tight quarters and confined spaces, under extremes of hot and cold, and in areas of dust, noise and wet conditions.
Must be able to work in heights, lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. and other manual labor to including pushing, pulling, sweeping and shoveling.
Must be able to work overtime as needed including nights, weekends, and holidays with minimum notice.
Employees in this position are required to be clean shaven, which is defined as having shaved the day of work. Mustaches that do not extend beyond the jawbone and do not interfere with the respirators sealing points are permitted. Full beards, goatees and bushy side burns are prohibited. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant or one year of formal training in wastewater treatment preferred. Advanced training in wastewater treatment plantoperations; pumps; motors or other skilled trade is highly desired.
Incumbent will have 18 months from hire date to acquire a Grade II NH Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification. Certified operators are then required to complete ongoing education and training to renew their certifications. Obtaining additional certification or licensing may be required.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Primary duties of this position involve: inspecting equipment and performing maintenance on facility; equipment; and machinery. The Operator II, Wastewater will operate and maintain assigned facilities and to actively support the Operations Lead Operator & Supervisor. The Operator will be part of an on-call rotation requiring night and weekend coverage as needed.
Requirements:
* High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
* Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Wastewater or related industry required.
* Must possess a valid and active Grade II Wastewater Operator License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
* Demonstrated communication skills.
* Must be computer literate in Windows and MS Office.
* Must be available after hours and on call work as required.
* Must possess knowledge of regulatory requirements.
* OSHA 10 General Industry Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).
* Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen.

Position Summary: The wastewater department is responsible for the handling, processing and disposal of various liquid and solid wastes from the manufacturing process. Work is completed for this department through the use of basic machine operation, chemical dosing of the wastewater, and minor analytical work. Individuals in this department are responsible for maintaining clean discharge water to the sewer, collecting process water a regular basis, and ensuring wastewater is not accumulating within the plant.
Key Responsibilities/Skills:
Wastewater Operator 1
Handles wastewater using drum dollies and fork trucks
Responsible for maintaining a clean working environment and equipment
Notifies and advises the team leads and production management on issues and/or improvements pertaining to the wastewater/mixing environment
Measures pH and follows the procedure for chemically dosing the wastewater
Follows all safety and quality guidelines, adhering to PPE and training requirements for position
Notifies and advises the team leads, production management and maintenance on all issues related to safety
Other duties as assigned, such as but not limited to: process and workflow improvement projects, new product development activities, quality investigations, etc.
