Job DescriptionSalary: Starting at $22 per hour depending on experience
Purpose of Job:
Under direct supervision of the Utilities Field Supervisor, performs day-to-day operations including but not limited to major and minor repairs on utility operations, specifically water, sewer and irrigation systems. This position will be required to report to work for any emergency water, irrigation or sewer main breaks, shutdowns or overflows should they occur during non-business hours or weekends as on-site crew requires.
Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation: If assigned, employees in this classification will be required to report and carry out duties as directed for the duration of an emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of physical skilled work in servicing, maintaining, and repairing utility underground and above ground pipes, lines, meters, and sewer and water equipment.
Responsible for responding to work orders as assigned.
Repair, adjust, service, test and replace equipment using hand tools and test equipment as required.
Perform hydrant flushing to clear potable water lines and maintain records for same.
Installation and repairs for potable and reuse water meters.
Assist in maintaining irrigation and wastewater pumps, monitoring stations, wells, and other equipment.
Assist in completing underground utility locates issued through 811 locate ticket system.
Assist in sampling for Safe Drinking Water Act and South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Water Use Permit compliance.
Position will require the employee to be placed into the departments rotating on-call schedule once they are sufficiently trained as determined by the Utilities Manager/Director.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent and one (1) year related experience appropriate to utility operations and/or construction activities; or any combination of education and experience which would align with government and utility experience.
Must be 18 years old and a United States Citizen or eligible to work in the United States.
Must successfully pass a background check and alcohol and drug test.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
FDEP Level 3 Water Distribution System Operator License, or ability to obtain within one (1) year.
FDOT Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) [MOT (Maintenance of Traffic)] certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year.
First Aid/CPR or ability to obtain within one (1) year.
Must possess a Class E state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
FEMA ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 or ability to obtain within three (3) months.
Ladder Safety Training & Certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year.
Preferred Certifications:
FWPCOA Wastewater Collection C Certification (or comparable qualification)
FDEP Stormwater Erosion and Sediment Inspector Certification
Physical Demands:
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, fumes, hazardous materials, heights, confined spaces, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, water hazards, bright/dim light, toxic agents, disease, pathogenic substances, or animal/wildlife attacks.
May be required to work hours other than the regular District hours including nights, weekends, and holidays and during emergency situations.
Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, and kneeling.
Some crawling, reaching, handling, sitting, pushing, and pulling, bending, stooping and digging.
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact.
The position involves heavy physical demands, such as exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Tasks require some unassisted lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Tasks may require prolonged periods of visual concentration and require moderate levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.

About the role
The Utility Operator is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the ash handling and metal recovery equipment in the Residue Storage and Processing Building area. In this role, you will perform routine operations and inspections of the residue and metal recovery equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Daily operation of the bottom ash transfer conveyors, ash silos, fly ash transfer screws, pugmills, ferrous magnet, ECS conveyor and associated equipment.
Perform daily routine inspections of assigned equipment and fill out daily log sheets.
Participate in boiler cleanings.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment related to ash removal and conditioning and an orderly clean work area.
Perform lockout and tag out of equipment in support of maintenance activities.
Complete scheduled assigned Operator Qualifications Standards.
Drive mobile equipment such as forklifts.
Qualifications:
GED/HS Diploma preferred

Forklift driving experience a plus.
Three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
Formal technical or apprentice training is desirable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Shift Work
This position works on a rotating 12-hour shift including nights, weekends and some holidays. Overtime will be required.

Working near moving machinery as well as noisy and dusty environments; must be able to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) including a negative pressure respirator in accordance with OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1910.134.

About the role
As an Auxiliary Operator, you will work in collaboration with our facility control room to operate and inspect various power plant systems safely and efficiently to ensure the operational effectiveness of Reworld's industrial disposal process.
Position Responsibilities:
Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures, systems include, but are not exclusively limited to boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and heavy industrial equipment
Monitor and inspect various boiler plant auxiliary equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices
Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and/or potential equipment disruptions that impact facility operations
Monitor air pollution control equipment
Perform various types of material sampling, chemistry testing, and treatment of water, as required
Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment, such as: cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts
Responsible to maintain correct levels of refuse-fuel in operations equipment, and ensure appropriate refuse mix in designated pits and areas of operations
Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations
Position Requirements & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 2-3 years' experience operating a boiler, heavy industrial equipment some maintenance

Testing of materials, along with managing controls to weigh and mix aggregate, cement, and water are all essential elements of this position. SUMMARY
Candidate will be responsible for operating wastewater treatment plants. They will operate machinery that converts wastewater in drains and sewers into a form that's safe to release into the environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Control equipment and monitor processes that remove or destroy harmful materials, chemicals, and microorganisms from wastewater.
Run tests to make sure that the processes are working correctly.
Keep records of water quality and other indicators.
Operate and maintain the pumps and motors that move water and wastewater through filtration systems.
Monitor the indicators at their plants and make adjustments as necessary.
Read meters and gauges to make sure that plant equipment is working properly.
Take samples and run tests to determine the quality of the water being produced.
Adjust the amount of chemicals, such as chlorine and fluorine, being added to the water.
Use computerized systems to monitor plant processes.
Plan emergency reaction protocols.
Fix chemical leaks and oxygen deficiencies.
Keep records that document compliance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Supervises and manages the operation of treatment facilities, injection wells, percolation evaporation ponds, spray irrigation, reclaimed water operations, bio-solids processing, and disposal systems.
* Supervises and trains operators in the inspection, adjustment, minor repair, and cleaning of treatment plant equipment such as chlorinators, blowers, sludge collectors, sludge handling equipment, chemical feeders, pumps, valves, screens, and related equipment.
