As a Plant Operator for our Care Chemicals business unit, you will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF's Washington Surfactants Plant manufacturing operations, which provide innovative solutions to customers globally.
**During your 8-hour shift as a Plant Operator, you will**
+ Manufacture quality products following standard recipes and procedures under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and Operations Supervisor.
+ Support the loading and unloading of tank trucks and railcars, and box trailers.
+ Operate industrial equipment such as refrigeration units, pumps, filters, agitators, and overhead hoists using both field controls as well as automated systems and PLC's.
+ Operate powered mobile equipment such as fork trucks, pallet jacks, and yard tractors.
+ Support the Prill Tower operation, where molten surfactants are processed into a solid form and packaged.
**If you...**
+ Hold a HS Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of chemical manufacturing and processing experience
+ Are willing and able to work 8 hr shifts (rotating day/afternoon/night M-F, holidays and weekends on call as needed).
+ Can lift up an carry up to 50 lbs, working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
+ Are familiar with process equipment such as storage tanks, pumps, hoses, etc. and mobile equipment such as fork trucks, pallet jacks, and yard tractors.
+ Have previous experience with bulk containers (tank trucks, railcars, ISO containers)
+ Have previous experience using a yard tractor to shuttle trailers between docks and loading stations
+ Hold a NJ State High Pressure Boiler's License - Black or Blue Seal (preferred, not required)

Completes campus boiler plant rounds in all required campus properties throughout the shift.
Makes logbook entries and conducts maintenance.
Check, record, and report fuel and water levels.
Keeps boiler and machine rooms safe and clean.
Inspects to ensure proper operation of and fills water softeners around campus.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
5-10 years of experience in boiler operations.
New Jersey Black Seal low-pressure boiler operator license.

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
Responsible for day-to-day operation and dispatch of the plant to the electric grid.
Monitor/control access to unmanned locations.
Weather monitoring and vessel tracking.
SCADA/HMI/CCTV systems to monitor and safely operate all corresponding parts of the plant and auxiliary systems (Onshore substation, Offshore Substation and Wind Turbine Generators).
Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions in a timely manner and report any issues to appropriate governing agencies if necessary (Grid Operator, NYISO, NYPD, FDNY, USCG, ETC.).
Maintain operator logs and input work orders when required.
Responsible for proper isolations (LOTO) and permit issuing for corrective, planned and emergency maintenance. Successfully complete all the training required for the position of Control Room Operator.
May be asked to temporarily stand in for Control Room Manager from time to time.
Monitor and control of the Wind Turbines Generators. Operate the Work Release system including activation and deactivation of work.
Salary range: $39 - $86/hr

Qualifications

SUMMARY: The Mobile Wastewater Operator serves our NYC service area. In this position, you will monitor and adjust the various treatment processes to ensure compliance with all permits and regulatory agencies. The mobile wastewater operator collects and records data and wastewater samples from their assigned facilities. The operator performs preventative maintenance on equipment as per the operations and maintenance manuals for the contracted facilities. The mobile wastewater operator is required to have at least a NY 2-2A wastewater license for this role . The mobile wastewater operator is an independent and well-organized self-starter who can manage his or her schedule to complete assigned site coverage requirements as noted below.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform critical testing of facility operations, such as PH, dissolved oxygen, chlorine, etc., in order to monitor system condition
Complete Discharge Monitoring Reports as required by facilities permits
Perform general preventative maintenance on treatment plant equipment such as blower oil, filter and belt changes and pulling and inspecting submersible pumps, etc. (Further defined below in addendum A)
Maintain complete, accurate, legible records of all phases of facility operations
Maintain complete, accurate, legible records of all equipment and plant maintenance
Assist to prepare monthly written operating report based on facility's operation and/or maintenance records for the client, employer or regulatory agency as required

Required to be part of a 24 hour on call rotation

What You'll Be Doing
Operation and maintenance of central plant, including steam generation and distribution, emergency generator operation, and associated auxiliary equipment (pumps, motor, pressure vessels, etc.). Ensures the safe and efficient operations of the power plant. Manages a diversified work force that performs operation and maintenance of the central Plant, including steam generation and distribution, emergency generator operation, and associated auxiliary equipment (pumps, motor, pressure vessels, etc.).
Demonstrates compliance with all elements of the CH Corporate Corporate Compliance Program
Demonstrates the ability to lead and adapt to change effectively responding to changing needs, conditions, and/or priorities
Seeks out and initiates solutions to problems. Identifies issues of importance and develops relevant policies, programs, and proposals for potential implementation
Sets priorities, plans and coordinates work activities for the department in alignment with mission, vision and values
Executes hospital strategic plan through department specific goals and objectives that are measurable
Manages time resources effectively while managing multiple priorities; completes and submits all projects as directed and in a timely manner
Appropriates staffing and scheduling on budgeted FTE's
Maintain position control; participates in recruitment and retention initiatives
Knowledgeable of Central Plant and can perform functions of Stationary Engineer
Ability to independently plan work assignments and effectively works with others as needed
Performs Preventive maintenance
Performs Corrective Maintenance
What We're Looking For
Full Time- Day
High School Diploma/GED required
with 2-4 related experience required ; 5-8 related experience preferred
Red Seal Boiler License required

About the role
As an Auxiliary Operator, you will work in collaboration with our facility control room to operate and inspect various power plant systems safely and efficiently to ensure the operational effectiveness of Reworld's industrial disposal process.
Position Responsibilities:
Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures, systems include, but are not exclusively limited to boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and heavy industrial equipment
Monitor and inspect various boiler plant auxiliary equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices
Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and/or potential equipment disruptions that impact facility operations
Monitor air pollution control equipment
Perform various types of material sampling, chemistry testing, and treatment of water, as required
Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment, such as: cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts
Responsible to maintain correct levels of refuse-fuel in operations equipment, and ensure appropriate refuse mix in designated pits and areas of operations
Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations
Position Requirements & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
A minimum of 2-3 years' experience operating heavy industrial equipment
Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule

The expected hourly rate for this position is $33.63-$38.00. This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary figure will take into account a variety of factors including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
