Your Job Koch Fertilizer Wever is looking for a Plant Operator to join our Ammonia, UREA, UAN, Nitric Acid & Utilities Operations teams. This Operator controls equipment systems that process chemical substances into specified products and monitors the production process to ensure safety of personnel & efficiency of systems and equipment. The assigned work is outdoors in all types of weather conditions. The operator works 12-hour shifts on a 4-5-5 rotation alternating between 4-5 days or nights on, followed by 4-5 days off. Asphalt Plant Supervisor/Operator . Responsible to safely operate concrete or asphalt plant to batch materials used in construction. Moves controls on panel board or control board to heat, dry and mix ingredients such as asphalt, sand, stone and oil to produce asphalt paving materials; to weigh and mix aggregate, cement and water to produce concrete. Ensure conformance to quality specifications. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Qualifications Knowledge High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Power Generation training program preferred. Prior work experience in large commercial power generation operations group or comparable heavy industrial process experience preferred. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts and be able to advance knowledge and understanding in both areas. Basic familiarity with electronic and pneumatic controls beneficial. Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all audiences, including customers. Proficiency with use of computers, including email, calendar, Internet browsers, and the Microsoft Office suite of products at a basic level. Primary Responsibilities Follow established fermentation procedures, make adjustments on the processes or processing equipment, manually or through a central processing computer. Notify Supervisor of equipment failures and when major fermentation problems or variations in the process are detected. Follow production schedule. Follow established cleaning (CIP) and syrup/raw materials procedures. Responsible for reading and understanding material safety data for chemicals used in fermentation process. Follow all procedures/precautions when adding chemicals to fermentation process and working around chemicals. Run the separation of the yeast after the fermentation. Learn to comply with all established safety, GMP, and food safety rules of the plant as well as general company policies. Verify accuracy of all information. Record and maintain accurate written and electronic information for fermentation, separation, CIP's, or any other documents required by company to regulate parameters, procedures and equipment through basic laboratory analysis, simple calculations, and computer controls. Communicate and interact with other employees, customers, and management personnel in a respectful and effective manner. Follow syrup/molasses processes from start to end to minimize loss. Train and work in other departments in the facility as needed. This may include truck-loading, packaging, cleaning for customer audits, and filling in for various absences throughout the facility.
