The CWA Coordinator will have the opportunity to contribute to species and habitat management, conservation policy development, and program improvements through working collaboratively with colleagues and partners. The individual in this position will work with staff and partners to benefit wildlife at designated Critical Wildlife Areas (CWAs), sites that support significant concentrations of wildlife. FWC currently has 32 designated CWAs, many closed to the public seasonally or year-round to protect important shorebird and wading bird sites, as well as bat caves and gopher tortoises. This position serves as the statewide CWA Coordinator and is primarily responsible for coordinating with staff, law enforcement, and partners to support management activities such as posting, stewardship, species monitoring, and habitat management on designated CWAs. The CWA Coordinator will work with staff and partners to evaluate potential new or modifications to CWAs and provide direction through the establishment and modification process. Additionally, the person in this position is responsible for administrative tasks such as managing budgets, purchasing, managing contracts, and seeking funding to support needs outside of the existing budget. This position will have a key role coordinating and collaborating on conservation efforts that benefit a variety of imperiled species, including imperiled shorebird and wading birds in Florida. Pay Rate: $36.71 Water: Controls treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and for industrial use. Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw water into treating plant. Dumps specified amounts of chemicals, such as chlorine, ammonia, and lime into water or adjusts automatic devices that admit specified amounts of chemicals into tanks to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water. Starts agitator to mix chemicals and allows impurities to settle to bottom of tank. Turns valves to regulate water through filter beds to remove impurities. Pumps purified water into water mains. Monitors panelboard and adjusts controls to regulator flow rates, loss of head pressure and water elevation and distribution of water. Cleans tanks and filter beds, using backwashing (reverse flow of water.) Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment, using hand- and power tools. Tests water samples to determine acidity, color, and impurities, using colorimeter, turbidimeter, and conductivity meter. Records data, such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity, and water pressure. May operate potable water- purification plant to supply drinking water. May purify wastewater from plant preparatory to pumping water into rivers and streams or city mains. Performs other duties as assigned. Wastewater: Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage: Monitors control panels and adjust valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage. Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings, and tests results to determine load requirements. Starts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, setline, aeration, and sludge digestion processes. Maintains log of operations and records meter and gas readings. Gives directions to wastewater treatment plant attendants and sewage disposal workers in performing routine operations and maintenance. May collect sewage samples using dipper or bottle and conducts laboratory test, using testing equipment such as colorimeter. Performs other duties as assigned. * High School education or equivalent. * Must possess Class II Water and Wastewater Operator license. * Must provide verifiable evidence of a minimum of 12 months experience in the maintenance mechanic field. * Must possess the tools of their trade. * Must possess a valid state driver's license. * Must have and wear hard-toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413- 05 standards * Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

PLANT MECHANIC Responsibilities: * Ensure Safety * The plant maintenance mechanic will be responsible for daily maintenance and repair of the plant (within Oldcastle Southern Group (APAC Florida, Conrad Yelvington Distributors, and Preferred Materials) as well as other miscellaneous work that needs to be performed. Responsibilities will include plant maintenance, repair, and ad installation operations as assigned. Performing special maintenance projects and maintenance and repair on all facility equipment. Troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs, replacing defective parts as needed. Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment in use at the plant. * The mechanic will be responsible for the completion of the necessary paperwork that is required as well as communicating any maintenance that needs completed to management. This person will also be expected to follow all safety regulations set forth by the company. Mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment. This includes all equipment as well as the facility. * The mechanic will be responsible for keeping and turning in the required paperwork management: Maintenance needs, Parts and Service Work orders and Invoices, Safety Documentation. * The mechanic may be asked to perform a wide range of duties within the plant such as operating a front end loader, and the willingness to help wherever needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds alone and stand a good part of the day. * The mechanic will be working in varying weather conditions, in dust and noisy areas. Substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting or working in awkward or strained positions.
