The Critical Wildlife Area Coordinator position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to lead conservation of critical sites supporting imperiled species through overseeing Florida's Critical Wildlife Area (CWA) program. The CWA Coordinator will have the opportunity to contribute to species and habitat management, conservation policy development, and program improvements through working collaboratively with colleagues and partners.
The individual in this position will work with staff and partners to benefit wildlife at designated Critical Wildlife Areas (CWAs), sites that support significant concentrations of wildlife. FWC currently has 32 designated CWAs, many closed to the public seasonally or year-round to protect important shorebird and wading bird sites, as well as bat caves and gopher tortoises.
This position serves as the statewide CWA Coordinator and is primarily responsible for coordinating with staff, law enforcement, and partners to support management activities such as posting, stewardship, species monitoring, and habitat management on designated CWAs. The CWA Coordinator will work with staff and partners to evaluate potential new or modifications to CWAs and provide direction through the establishment and modification process.
Additionally, the person in this position is responsible for administrative tasks such as managing budgets, purchasing, managing contracts, and seeking funding to support needs outside of the existing budget. Drive and operate a Combo/Jet-Vac Truck to, from, and around assigned worksites to clean sanitary and storm collection systems utilizing a Class A / B CDL license
Complete daily DOT vehicle inspections as required / maintain required fuel logs and DOT paperwork
Complete the cleaning of small and large diameter pipe, vaults and tanks to Client Standards
Strong ability to operate all mechanical aspects of the Combo truck independently
Communicate and work with the CCTV Operator on assigned tasks at specific projects

The Water/Wastewater Operator regularly participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment facility as directed by the Project Manager. Responsibilities include
Monitor water/wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, adjusting as necessary to control their operation.
Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and EPA standards.
Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintains all necessary records.
Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties.
Work Schedule & On-Call Details
Our standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, but we offer flexibility to accommodate individual needs.
Once established in the role, operators participate in an on-call rotation based on availability-typically ranging from every other week to once a month. We offer a $200 on-call stipend for each rotation.

High School Degree or Equivalent.
Valid Florida Driver's License required.
Must possess a valid State of Florida Class "C” Wastewater Treatment PlantOperators license.
Being able to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as following safety procedures.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

This person will also be expected to follow all safety regulations set forth by the company. Mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment. This includes all equipment as well as the facility.
* The mechanic will be responsible for keeping and turning in the required paperwork management: Maintenance needs, Parts and Service Work orders and Invoices, Safety Documentation.
* The mechanic may be asked to perform a wide range of duties within the plant such as operating a front end loader, and the willingness to help wherever needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds alone and stand a good part of the day.
* The mechanic will be working in varying weather conditions, in dust and noisy areas. Substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting or working in awkward or strained positions. Some hazard involved due to working in and around trucks and machinery.
