Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs are made on plant, secondary structures, related maintenance tools, and safety equipment.     This position's primary focus will be the safe and reliable operation of a renewable natural gas (RNG) plant. The plant operator will ensure communications are maintained between plant personnel and local landfill staff. They will support plant operations, construction and well field tuning. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) operational tasks such as interfacing with a SCADA/HMI system; performing analytical tests; technical maintenance work to support plant operations. Primary Responsibilities: • Safe and reliable operations, maintenance and support activities associated with an RNG plant in a landfill setting. • Recording, analyzing and using plant operations data to ensure plant optimization. • Ensure plant operations are maintained within required safety standards. • Ensure project compliance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations. • Maintain a clean and safe working environment. • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, operate and replace necessary equipment, including preventative maintenance. • Maintain proper instrument calibrations. • Maintain well field data base and associated recording records. • Sample collection, testing and analysis for process control. • Ongoing monitoring and adjustment of well field to maintain gas output and quality. • Support operational staff to identify well field issues in a timely manner. • Support engineering staff with construction planning and gas collection expansion. • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with plant and landfill personnel. • Maintain an appropriate level of plant staffing at all times. • Ensure timely and professional communications with all plant stakeholders. • Identify and communicate any adverse plant events to all stakeholders. • Other duties or projects as assigned. Requirements 1-3 years of experience with landfill gas to energy or LFG to RNG. • 1-3 years of experience in chemical or gas processing. • 1-3 years of experience in landfill operation. • High school diploma or equivalency, technical college degree or vocational training desired. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. • Appropriate and professional oral and written communication skills. • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including effective management of multiple priorities, strong organizational skills, maintenance of business relationships, and team building. • Self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment and is capable of operating independently. • The ability to travel and accommodate an overnight stay (10% travel time). • Holds a valid U.S. driver's license.

Must achieve a Water Treatment Plant Operator Class III A Certification within forty-two (42) months from date of employment according to the following schedule: First fifteen months - achieve Class IA Certification; within 30 months -achieve Class IIA Certification; and within 42 months - achieve Class IIIA Certification. Valid Kentucky driver's license and good physical condition. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Additional education in science and math, additional mechanical and welding experience and heavy equipment operation. Must have a valid driver's license and meet SEHC insurance requirements. Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with steam and condensate. General familiarity with computers systems, pumps, chemical treatment, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers, and computer operation and software applications. Kind and Length of Experience: 3 years' experience operating a central plant with high pressure steam equipment, large capacity centrifugal chillers and related equipment - pumps, compressors and control systems.
