OVERVIEW
The successful candidate must have experience in Boiler plantoperations and maintenance.
Gas and Steam Turbines, Electrical installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and controls located in the interior and exterior of building.
Plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance of piping and associated equipment and components located in the interior and exterior of building are preferred.
Installs, repairs, and maintains mechanical/electrical operating equipment and machinery.
Regularly conducts a routine and on-going assessment of the building systems operations.
Performs tests, rounds and analyzes data to assure the proper functioning of departmental equipment.
Monitor the operation of all mechanical & electrical operating equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee and monitor the operation and make adjustments of refrigeration, heat exchanger, HVAC, electrical, emergency backup systems and hot water systems; monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; turbines, boilers, and ventilating and hot water heaters; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; record readings and make adjustments where necessary to assure proper operation of equipment. POSITION PURPOSE The Chemical Operator will monitor and operate equipment and facilities, including field equipment, ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):

The Auxiliary Operator at Four Corners Power Plant supports the safe, efficient and cost-effective production of electric energy by operating and monitoring turbines, generators, scrubbers, bag houses, and plant auxiliary equipment. Major Accountabilities
- Reads work orders, technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams related to the work assignment. Writes/reviews work scope and hazard/risk assessment of the work assignment.
- Knowledge of APM and safety standards related to auxiliary operator work such as personal protective equipment, hazardous material handling, asbestos containing material (ACM) awareness, MSDS, confined space entry, company LOTO procedures, ladder safety, arc flash protection, and all material contained in the accident prevention manual.
- Take field readings from charts, meters, and gauges at established intervals to ensure proper and efficient operation of the plant.
- Diagnose and correct equipment, system problems and other abnormal operating conditions by monitoring and inspecting power plant equipment.
- Communicate with Control Operator on any abnormal conditions. Coordinate any field action with the Control Operator.
- Reports any need for equipment repair.
- Under the direction of the Control Operator, manipulate field controls on all power plant auxiliary equipment. This includes the following systems such as boilers, turbines, water, fuel, air, ash handling, pollution control systems, auxiliary power etc. The operation of pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feed water heaters, filters, chemical injection equipment, scrubbers, ZLDs, bag houses etc.
- Open and close valves, dampers, switches, and breakers in the appropriate sequence following operating procedures to shut down and start up equipment.
- Isolate equipment from all energy sources to remove, inspect or maintain it by identifying the proper equipment and corresponding valves, breakers, switches. Hang LOTO tags at boundary points following the company LOTO procedure to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
- Inspect records and logbook entries, and communicate with other plant personnel, in order to assess equipment operating status.
- Clean and ensure the proper lubrication of equipment such as generators, turbines, pumps, fans, conveyors, and compressors in order to prevent equipment failure or deterioration. Checks oil levels, lubricates, joints, adjust belts and tensioners, replace filters, tighten gland and pipe joints for preventative maintenance.
- Record and compile operational data, completing and maintaining forms, logs, and reports.
- Collect water and oil samples for laboratory analysis.
- Perform laboratory analysis on water samples. At Cholla the Water Analyst Position will be required to qualify as an AO on one of the AO areas.
- Reset tripped electric relays in coordination with the Control Operator following arc flash protection procedures.
- Clear obstructions in filters and equipment by removing debris and back flushing such as with heat exchangers.
- Analyze field problems such as hot bearings, plugged filters, low oil, clogged heat exchangers, bottom ash build up, loss of coal flow, lime flow drop off, etc. and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
- Respond to emergencies such as fires, hazardous material spills and excess water spills.
- Communicate with Supervisor, Operations Crew Leader and peers by radio, telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person to provide and receive information-particularly at shift turnover.
- Identify and report to the Control Operator all items that have an adverse impact on unit and/or equipment efficiency and reliability.

The role of the Chemical Process Operator is to produce finished bulk product for Packaging ensuring safe operations, product quality, on time delivery and the efficiency of Processing Operation.
Your responsibilities
TECHNICAL & OPERATIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Follow detailed written methods, instructions and formula for mixing, blending and compounding specific ingredients in precise amounts for the manufacture of consumer and industrial products.
* distinguish between various raw materials by proper labels and physical properties during batching
* Prepares and makes ready all materials for manufacturing. Monitors change of temperature, pressure, visual appearance, physical changes and other significant developments which serve as an indication of process progress.
* Fill out a batch sheet complete with all necessary data including but not limited to weight of each add, time of completion with date and testing results.
* Able to communicate any change or discrepancy to equipment or batches on time, clearly and effectively across the team
* Perform routine physical or chemical tests necessary for adjustment and provide samples of finished product to Quality Assurance for testing and approval.
* Label all retains with complete data
* Maintain working knowledge of all pipelines, connections, valves, storage and location of all equipment necessary for this operation.
* Maintain clean work areas, cleans manufacturing and storage tanks, all lines and all other equipment, using steam and various cleaning agents as required.
* Monitor machinery and equipment to assure it is operating properly and make minor mechanical adjustments when necessary. Perform routine preventative maintenance. Contact the proper authority for major adjustments or repair.
* Fill BMT's as required with proper packaging and labeling materials or manufacturing orders requesting raw materials.
* Operate Lift Truck to move/store raw materials.
* Assist Raw Material Operator with receiving all bulk raw materials delivered by rail cars or tank trucks in Tank Farm.
* Assist in taking inventory as needed (daily, weekly, and annual).
* Work as a fully participating member of a self-managed work team running the day to day Processing business with direction from the Processing Lead.
* Hazardous Waste Operation (HAZWOPER ) training and certification required (provided by company)
* Mandatory member of Spill Response Team - may require use of respirator; based on level of HAZWOPER Cert.
* Operate the low and high pressure boilers on site.
SAFETY:
* Understands and is accountable for full compliance with RB local and Global EHS Policies and programs (i.e., PPE, HAZCOM, Lockout Tag Out, process safety, DEP, TCPA, etc.)
* Participation in EHS programs (i.e., Behavior Safety Observations, near miss reporting, etc.)
* Timely completion of all EHS training
* Accurate and timely completion of Inspections, reports and forms required to comply with EHS rules and regulations
* Where required, additional EHS training such as Hazardous Waste and/or HAZWOPER. Training will be provided in order for the employee to fulfill the requirement of his/her position.
* Participate when needed in EHS internal/external audits and/or regulatory inspections
* Active participation during incident investigations and promoting all safety activities/events
QUALITY:
* Understands and is accountable for following: all Quality, GMP, and cleaning standards and guidelines
* Follows current work instruction and ensures adherence to the Quality Control Plan and related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
* Performs and practices good Housekeeping.

The experience we're looking for
* Chemical Process Operator regularly works an eight (8) hrs weekday schedule or a twelve (12) hour weekend shift - overtime (including weekend work) is common and required.
* Must be able to work any shift, weekends and mandatory overtime as needed.
* Frequent lifting of tools and equipment up to 50lbs. is required.
* Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, turning in performance of duties.
* Walking, standing and climbing stairs and crossovers are common.
* Work is indoors/outdoors and temperatures are seasonably normal for indoor factory/production and outdoor Tank Farm operations.
* Proper use of PPE is always required.
QUALIFICATIONS
* High School diploma or GED equivalent required
* 1+ years of relevant work experience in a Chemical Processing environment
* Black Seal License and relevant experience in High Pressure Boiler Operations is desired.
* Must be able to work any shift, weekends and mandatory overtime as needed
* Able to read and understand email MSDS and Labels
* Must be able to drive a Fork Truck
* Demonstrated competency in attention to detail, accuracy, work standards, initiative and managing work
