The Control Room Operator (ROC Operator) is responsible for the continuous monitoring, control, and coordination of multiple hydroelectric facilities from a centralized Remote Operations Center (ROC). This role utilizes SCADA, HMI, and PLC systems to ensure the safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operation of all plant assets. Operating on a 24/7 schedule, the ROC Operator plays a critical role in supporting grid reliability, maintaining environmental compliance, and upholding system safety. The position requires a high level of technical knowledge, situational awareness, and clear communication with both on-site and remote personnel. Key Responsibilities Monitor real-time plant performance using SCADA, HMI, and remote camera systems. Remotely operate hydroelectric turbines, generators, gates, and auxiliary systems in accordance with dispatch orders and SOPs. Execute safe start-up, shutdown, and load-change sequences. Maintain compliance with license-required flows, environmental regulations, and FERC/NERC standards. Respond to alarms and abnormal system conditions, initiating timely corrective actions. Coordinate with field personnel during routine operations, maintenance, and emergencies. Maintain accurate shift logs, operational records, setpoint changes, and compliance documentation.
