Monitors and tests the operation of high pressure steam boiler systems in order to identify malfunctions and potential problems with equipment such as automatic controls, valves, electrostatic precipitators, lime slurry systems, piping, pumps, and related components. Performs operational maintenance (e.g. lubricate equipment and power clean water tubes) and repairs of limited complexity on mechanical parts and systems and may be required to perform limited or basic electrical repairs. Uses the proper tools for boiler and associated equipment maintenance, including the instrumentation. Takes samples of the boiler feed water and test them for the proper level of chemical additives. Based upon the results of these tests, adjusts the level of the chemicals that are fed into the boiler water to achieve the proper operating levels. Performs preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant systems and equipment including boiler feed pumps, fuel oil pumps, air compressors, turbines, generators, boiler fixtures, and combustion fans. Installs, maintains, and repairs a variety of complex equipment and systems involving high pressure steam generating boilers with complicated components, critical requirements, and rigid tolerances. Provides comprehensive control and operational readiness of all high-pressure steam boilers supplying the main hospital and all outlying support structures. Operates and maintains high pressure boilers and their auxiliary equipment controls. Starts up any boiler, and bring it to the state where it can take its share of the load. Executes proper boiler blow down procedures and the proper soot blowing procedures. Operates medical center fire safety codes. Sets up fire watches till the alarm situation is rectified. Calls in vendors to perform corrective procedures to get buildings out of alarm status. Performs plumbing work involving maintenance and repair of a wide variety of piping, plumbing fixtures (lavatories, commodes, sink, disposals, bath tubs and shower fixtures). Makes electrical repairs by removing ad replacing defective parts. About the role At our Northwest Tennessee Renewable Natural Gas Plant in Union City, TN, we convert landfill gas into pipeline quality natural gas (High Btu or Renewable Natural Gas). Our Operations Technician operates the landfill gas processing facility. We process the landfill gas by removing the majority of the non-methane components including CO2, water, sulfur and volatile and non-volatile organic compounds to attain pipeline quality. The RNG Operator will operate and maintain Landfill gas to High BTU processing facility; which will include Guild gas process, Gas Compressors, CO2 removal system, Thermal-Oxidizers, and H2S removal systems. We also perform intermediate to sophisticated level Instrument and Control repair, maintenance, calibration and solving. This site's weekly schedule consists of four 10-hour days; there are two shifts Mon. -Thurs. or Tues. -Fri 6am-4pm or 8am-6pm. Must be available for on-call duty on a rotating basis. The schedule is subject to change per business needs and management discretion. Key accountabilities Own the safe operation of the plant during assigned shift in the most efficient and productive method to maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and prescribed safety and environmental standards. Make periodic inspections of plant equipment to resolve accurate and normal operating conditions. Check and record operational data such as fluid levels, temperatures and pressures, compare to trends and have the ability to make corrections as needed. Review daily operating reports and other records to ensure specified operating characteristics in control of the plant equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and solving on plant instrumentation and equipment. Detect and correct faulty and malfunctioning mechanical and electrical components, devices and equipment. Operate sophisticated instrumentation and process control systems. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters. Tackle and repair electrical system wiring from control wiring up to 480 volts. Install, remove and modify equipment. Advise Lead Operation Technician and Regional Manager of shutdown or major changes in power output of unit. Maintain all plant equipment and structures per manufactures and Archaea Energy guidelines. Maintain a clean work space including the plant building, control room, rest room, break room and grounds. Maintain daily operation logs for shift per prescribed standards. Assist in planning maintenance and outage activities. Assist in defining, ordering and procuring all required parts. Responds in a timely manner to callouts and works overtime as the need arises. Perform analytical tests as needed (i. e. PH, Conductivity, methane, H2S, moisture). Support all facets of Hazardous waste handling and management in accordance with training. Duties may range from filling of waste containers, accurate labeling, movement of containers, completing appropriate paperwork, and signing of Hazardous waste shipping manifest or receiving hazardous products. This position requires 25%-50% travel per month (First 12 months in the position will require 50% travel per month when hired for a new plant. Travel requirement will reduce to 25% per month when working at an existing plant or in year 2 and beyond for a new plant). Essential education Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. . Essential experience Intermediate Electrical, Chemical and Mechanical experience. Previous landfill gas operation experience a plus, minimum of 1-3 years in landfill gas processing, chemical plant operations, industrial gas operations, or power plant operations or equivalent. Understanding of process control systems as applied to landfill gas collection and processing. Technical / Solving skills with ability to read and understand sophisticated technical manuals and schematics. Understanding a variety of sensors and transducer systems, calibrate, and solve different types of pressure, level, flow and temperature sensors, understand the complete plant process and how it's affected by the control system, including fixing mechanical systems as the need arises. Knowledge of basic math, gas chemistry, piping and instrumentation drawings. Follow established procedures with minimal amount of general supervision (i. e. , work independently). Ability to recognize colors, able to distinguish between the red and green status indicators on PLC and wire colors. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Position Summary: The Process Operator I is responsible for supporting our seed enhancement production process using seed technology processes meeting predetermined quality standards for internal and external customers. The Process Operator I will support the production process across one to three areas within the lifecycle of the production process. Does raw seed counts when needed * Posts completed orders in SAP * Generates packing pages in SAP and provides them to packaging * Does monthly inventories of labels and other inventoried items * Prepares coating cards and seed labels for production personnel Packing The Packing Area is responsible for preparing the completed order for customer delivery, which include the following: * Review the "hit list" that the team lead prepares each day and responsible for packing all the orders on the daily "hit list" each day * Gather the order ready to pack from Seed Room and order information card for each * Verify information card with appropriate paperwork to ensure accuracy for packing * Use specific equipment to prepare for packing in its appropriate containers that can range from boxes to pails. * Use packing equipment that requires attention to detail in setting weights and measurements according to specifics of order * Label each box with appropriate label that is specific to customer and product * Prepare final order that will be delivered to customer by the Shipping Department * Complete the process by reviewing all documentation for accuracy and closing the order with the production office. Shipping and Receiving: The S&R area is where the process for the production operation begins and ends. The S&R area is responsible for the following: * Inbounding seed - seed received by Incotec from Customer * Reviewed by the inbound team and ensure that paperwork matches by weighing seed received, maintaining a copy of the bag in which the seed was received for documentation purposes, completing a seed count, and maintaining a sample * Inbounding this in SAP begins after the previous steps * An RH will be taken to ensure the moisture is acceptable * A handwritten SIR will be completed with all information * Inventory seed received and place in sealed bags with proper order information documentation and placed in Seed Room ready for production processing * After each order is closed out from the production office, and orders are scanned to customer service and the shipping team * Use SAP to determine next steps, if the order is to wait for germ lab or ready to be delivered * Once completed, pallets are wrapped and staged for delivery * Make arrangements with UPS, FedEx or XPO for order delivery * Collaborate and communicate with Customer Service Department to ensure customer needs and expectations are met * Responsible for using SAP (technology) to document the process * Responsible for domestic shipments and international shipments (each one has different requirements) Other Duties and Responsibilities * Understand seedsmanship and be constantly aware of product and watchful for contamination possibilities.
