Schedule: 5am-5pm - Mon-Fri w/occasional Saturday. Kilgore Companies, a Summit Materials Company, is looking for a Plant Operator in our Aggregate Division. The position of Plant Operator will be tasked with performing multiple plant duties safely and efficiently while maintaining a safety-first attitude.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Follow safety rules, regulations and procedures set forth by MSHA and Arizona Material policies.
* Safely perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections, complete daily equipment reports/plant inspections and report unsafe equipment/conditions to supervisor or foreman.
* Demonstrate the ability to safely and productively operate equipment at all times as assigned.
* Must be able or willing to learn to operate other heavy equipment, including skid steer, haul truck, excavator, dozer, motor grader, water truck and loader.
* Maintain good housekeeping practices on plants and equipment.
* Assist maintenance personnel with plant repairs when needed. Perform preventative maintenance.
* Cross train on other positions in the plant in order to serve as a relief to other operators.
* Demonstrates a positive, upbeat attitude and energy level and works as a team player.
* Assist with upkeep and greasing all bearings in the plant.
* Ability to work in a confined area with other heavy equipment and ground personnel while maintaining awareness of surrounding hazards of operation
* Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
* At least 5 years of mining/aggregate operations experience
* MSHA certified preferred
* Candidates must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment, exposed to weather elements, some noise; must have ability to work independently and problem-solve while working alone or as part of a team

Principal Duties
Monitor the collection system, including surveying and repairing manholes, clearing obstructions, and operating heavy equipment for sewer maintenance. Collect mapping data for underground utilities, clean and flush utility lines, and maintain applicable tools and equipment.
Inspect, operate, test, and maintain various water and wastewater pumping equipment, facilities, pipe systems, chemical feed systems, telemetry systems, and equipment associated with wastewater collections and culinary water delivery.
Maintain, operate, and attend to pressurized irrigation systems, including pumps, wells, valves, and ponds.
Perform all sampling, monitoring, and testing required to comply with Federal, State, and Local regulations.

ABOUT THE JOB:

* Batch consistent concrete for production on time when needed
* Make concrete cylinders and store properly as per ACI Field Testing manual
* Clean Mixer after last batch of concrete delivered
* Make sure batch tickets and daily production totals are printed and kept on file if not stored in batch computer
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
* Past experience working with mixing equipment.
* Experience working with concrete would be preferred, not required
