About the Role
We are seeking a Plant Operator to join a large-scale power generation facility in Queens, NY. In this essential position, you'll be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining plant systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor power plant systems and components during assigned shifts.

Apply and remove Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in accordance with safety standards.

Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports.
Required Skills & Experience

Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, including familiarity with systems up to 345 kV.
Experience applying LOTO procedures and following strict plant safety and environmental protocols.
Proficiency in data collection and analysis to identify performance trends and improve reliability.

Who are we looking for?
A person in this position is responsible for operating production equipment to manufacture chemical batches in compliance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and all local state and federal regulations regarding safety, health, and the environment.
What will you be doing?
* Work from written procedures to process, purify, and chemically fabricate products and their compounds through a sequence of batch operations.
* Operate equipment, including reactors, tanks, pumps, mixers, pH meters, level meters, flow meters, valves, and hoses used in the manufacture of said products.
* Handle liquid and solid chemicals using pumps, scales and flow meters.
* Weigh, measure and check raw materials and finished product to ensure that batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities and that accurate inventory is maintained.
* Perform product weighing, packaging, labeling, and boxing operations in accordance with SOP's.
* Locate materials in the warehouse and transport to manufacturing areas using a forklift as needed
* Collect process samples and interface with laboratory personnel for analysis.
* Maintain required log sheets including but not limited to batch tickets, packaging sheets, scrubber operation log, pH meter calibration, and equipment inspections.
* Attend required HSE training including Hazardous Waste Management, emergency response, and Hazard Communication, and demonstrate an acceptable level of understanding of topics.
* Package, mark, and label Hazardous Waste containers.
* Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, OHSA'S 18001 standards.
* Communicate with shift leader regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issues. Actively participate in shift meetings to assist in work planning and continuous improvement.
* Adheres to all corporate, plant, and safety policies/procedures.
* Wears personal protective equipment as applicable.
* Completes all assigned training including corporate, HSE and Quality specific requirements

Who are You?

What You Will Do:
Perform the facilities work necessary to operate, install, overhaul, maintain and repair a variety of equipment assigned to facilities services used to generate, transfer and supply energy and utilities for plant operations. Perform installation, overhaul and repair work and carryout preventive maintenance and service as required.

Perform similar duties throughout the facility within the scope and skill level of this job description. Assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides the opportunity for shared responsibilities and more effective use of available skills.
Qualifications You Must Have:
HS Diploma or GED
