The Division of Habitat & Species Conservation (HSC) is comprised of six Sections and two offices. This position works within the Wildlife Impact Management Section (WIM) of the FWC's Division of HSC.
Minimum qualifications, A high school diploma and 5 years professional experience in a closely related biological field or laboratory program is required. A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field can substitute for four of the 5 years of required experience.
Additional requirements: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. A valid driver's license is required. Description of Duties:
The Nonnative Fish and Wildlife Program within the Wildlife Impact Management Section (WIM) of the FWC's Division of Habitat and Species Conservation (HSC) is seeking an energetic and motivated candidate to serve as a Nonnative Fish and Wildlife Biologist II. Primary responsibilities of this position focus on nonnative fish and wildlife surveys for Burmese pythons and other large, nonnative constrictor snakes, husbandry of invasive pythons and other reptiles used for training and outreach, conducting safe-capture demonstrations with large constrictors for other FWC staff, volunteers, partners and the public, collecting and entering data into databases, QA/QC of data, and assisting the Interagency Python Management Coordinator with summarizing results of the contractor program or other programmatic needs. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with Early Detection Rapid Response (EDRR) for high priority nonnative fish and wildlife, conducting field work for nonnative fish and wildlife projects, checking traps, and assisting in nonnative fish and wildlife outreach events or trainings, such as Python Patrol and the Florida Python Challenge. This position also provides support to other Nonnative Fish and Wildlife Program initiatives as needed.
The incumbent will be required to travel throughout the state (primarily South region) to work with contractors, respond to occasional EDRR efforts, and assist with field projects and outreach events. The incumbent should be able to work with a team and independently.
Primary duties will include:
* Conducting field work to survey for and capture wild Burmese pythons and other large nonnative constrictor species;
* Conducting husbandry of outreach and training animals;
* Humanely killing nonnative wildlife using approved methods;
* Assisting with python-related public or partner workshops and meetings;
* Collecting, entering, and organizing data on all field activities;
* Quality assurance and quality control of data;
* Assisting the Interagency Python Management Coordinator and the Python Management Specialist as needed.
This position will include driving throughout the South region, working as part of a team, working independently, and requires an ability to trouble-shoot situations.
Additional duties may include:
* Checking and setting traps, and removing native species bycatch and invasive species;
* Assisting with EDRR efforts for nonnative fish and wildlife;
* Assisting with invasive species removal, population assessment, and field work;
* Serving as a crew member on FWC vessels in waters of the state and adjacent federal waters;
* Documenting activities in written summary reports using basic statistical analyses, graphs, and tables;
* Assisting with trainings related to nonnative fish and wildlife issues;
* Conducting other activities and tasks as necessary to support HSC staff in the region;
* Responding to other human-wildlife conflict issues as needed;
* The incumbent is also responsible for other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor, Field Operations Coordinator, Program Coordinator, or Section Leader.
In carrying out duties of this position, the incumbent is expected at all times to be aware and abide by the Commission's standards of conduct, as well as any and all Commission rules, directives, policies, procedures, and/or general orders applicable to performing the duties of this position.

About the role
The Control Room Operator leads and directs employees who, under the direction of the shift Supervisor, oversee and direct the operation of the facility. This position is responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis. Will respond to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions and execute plant shut-down and start-up procedures and ensure that the plant meets it's generating requirements while operating in a safe and environmentally efficient manner.

* On an assigned shift, inspects plant equipment and machinery to determine that all machinery is operating properly; takes samples of water or sewage at various stages of the treatment process, performs routine laboratory analyses to determine effectiveness of treatment procedures and records results; on the basis of sample results, adjusts treatment plant equipment, such as chlorinators, lime shakers, flocculators, digesters, sludge collectors, sand filters, chemical feeders, vacuum filters, conveyer systems, screens and related equipment; inspects recording charts and meters, and on the basis of such information, makes adjustments to controls in conformance with operation instructions.
* Performs preventative maintenance and, as necessary, makes minor repairs and adjustments on equipment; takes hourly reading and records them on log sheets.
* Performs physical tests which include turbidity, color, odor, taste and temperature; chemical tests which include pH, alkalinity, carbon dioxide, hardness, metal content and residual chlorine fluoride; and other tests which include bacteriological count such as chloroform bacteria, plate count, etc.

* Assists in instructing new employees in work methods and procedures; determines the need for special attention to operating or maintenance requirements and makes recommendations to superiors.

Key Responsibilities
• Greet members upon arrival and departure on the range.

• The number of stations shall be set going from front to back.
• The distance from the previous day's set up shall be approx. two (2) paces in distance from the previous day's rope position.
• The space between each station shall be four (4) paces.
• The apple crates shall be set up off the left leg of the bag stands.
• Place the yardage A-frame approx.. 7-8 paces behind the bag stands.
• Place one (1) tee podium next to the trash bin on the left / place one (1) tee podium next to the trash bin on the right.
• Range Target Nets should be evenly spaced and roughly 50 feet from the front of the tee box
• Place chairs and benches behind club washer and trash bins, and spaced out evenly from side to side of the range.
1. Wipe down all benches, chairs, tee podiums, and bag stands to ensure no dew/water is on them
▪ If it rains during the day, once the rain is finished, wipe the chairs, benches, tee podiums and bag stands down to ensure they are dry
• Position club washers behind bag stands but in front of the chairs (so as not to block any view from anyone sitting in the chairs).
1. Ensure each club washer is emptied and filled with new, clean water everyday.
• Place the yardage sign in the center of the range and use a rangefinder to ensure all yardage signs have accurate yardages' displayed.
• Each bag stand shall have an alignment rod, and fully stocked clean Boca Grove tees.
• Have an extra large basket of golf balls set off to the side for lessons only.
• Place the sun-shade / canopy in line with the rest of the driving range.
1. The following must be adhered to regarding the sun shade / canopy as it relates to standard operating procedures:
▪ In the event of incoming weather, all staff must be made aware and communicated to immediately roll up all canopy flaps.
▪ Staff must inform the Professional Staff (Pro's and inside ops) if/when necessary, as to any incoming weather that is spotted or seen by the Outside Operations Staff.
▪ CLOSING PROCEDURE: The canopy top MUST be rolled up on Sunday evenings.
• All practice facilities shall have a neat and clean appearance at all times.
• Place 3 Den Caddies at the chipping green during opening. Refer to your supervisor as to where and how many stations are to be set.
• Every fifteen (15) minutes, all practice facilities shall be checked and reorganized (trash picked up, stations refilled with golf balls, alignment rods placed in holders, tee's placed and filled in bag stands, tees and stray balls picked up, etc.).
• The range floor should not have the appearance that there are so many golf balls/tees on it; rather it should be picked and cleaned throughout the day to have a neat presentation.
• All golf balls that are picked from the range floor shall be washed and restocked into the driving range stations.
• The golf ball washer shall be cleaned daily and replaced with fresh, clean water with a small portion of soap.
• The golf balls that are swept/picked up from the chipping green, shall be returned to their stations. They do not need to be washed each time they are swept/picked up. At the end of the day, the golf balls from the chipping greens shall be washed and ready for the next day.
• The practice facilities shall be fully cleaned, picked, and swept at the end of each day.
• Hole #9 & #5: throughout the day, staff shall pick any stray range ball that was hit onto either hole.
• All trash bins shall be emptied and replaced with a new, clean trash bag at the end of each day.
• The water in the club washers shall be emptied out and refilled with fresh, clean water at the end of each day.
• The coolers for the drinking water shall be cleaned and refilled at the beginning of each day.
• Throughout the day: the flower beds at the back of the driving range shall be checked daily for tees, straw wrappers and misc. trash.
• Cover Shot Canopy: Each evening the Cover Shot shall be moved according to where the stations are set up. The canopy needs to be secured in place and other procedures needs to be followed - (see Supervisor for how to's).
• NOTE - The schedule for mowing the driving range and practice facilities (excluding the putting surfaces) may vary, so please speak with your supervisor or a member of the management team for details. The current schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Thus, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening, special attention must be given to any stray golf ball that may be in the way of the Agronomy team who will be mowing the following morning.
1. Set range on Monday, Wednesday, Friday AFTER THE AGRONOMY TEAM MOWS the range tee.
Golf Bag Room
• All golf bags in the bag room shall be alphabetically organized.
• Any member who keeps their bag in the bag room and is known to be playing that day, shall have their bag brought out and placed on a golf cart well in advance of their anticipated arrival.
• Any member leaving their bag in storage shall have their golf clubs cleaned and put in their respective spot immediately after play/practice.
• The bag room and corresponding area including the club repair area is meant to have a clean, neat and organized appearance. It is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that it remains that way at all times. If you see something out of place, put it back where it belongs.
Golf Carts & Golf Cart Storage Area
• Note: please have all wheels straight when parked.
• There shall be a minimum of four (4) golf carts parked and ready for play at all times in the staging area.
• There shall be two (2) carts 41,42 parked out front of the Golf Shop.
• Guest carts shall be backed in next to the grass near the valet circle
• At the completion of play/practice, the golf carts shall be and have
(and also checked for each morning):
1. Cleaned, using the appropriate soaps, brushes, vacuums, hose, and towels
2. Hand dried using towels and/or shammy, etc.
3. All trash must be removed from the cart and thrown away
4. A new pencil must be put in the cart on the right side
5. The tee holders shall be filled with the appropriate Boca Grove tees
6. A new scorecard shall be placed on the steering wheel
7. The sand buckets shall be filled approx. 80% and have the mini shovel in each sand box
8. Two clean, folded towels, rolled placed in the cup holder of each side of the golf cart
9. The cart shall have zero trash, crumbs, broken tees, etc. in it
▪ It shall look as if it were practically brand new
• If it does not, it has not been cleaned appropriately
• The carts shall be detailed using wax/golf cart shine and finish products, including the wheels on a weekly basis during slower periods.
1. If the carts are properly cleaned, this step should be a simple and fast one
▪ NOTE - do not use the wax/golf cart shine products on the steering wheels and golf cart floor, rather simply wipe the areas down with a wet towel
• There should not be any used or dirty carts left after play/practice in the staging area or in the outside operation that is visible to members.
1. Each cart that comes in after practice and play shall be put away immediately (Members private golf carts will always be first priority)
▪ If that is not possible due to busy times, then park the cart to the side and leave it to be cleaned at a later time, when time allows itself
• The golf cart wash area shall be swept out and cleaned on a daily basis.
There should be very limited water, sand and debris that are tracked into the golf cart storage area. This is a shared area with the Engineering Department and needs to be kept clean at all times.
• Drain cleaning - the drain in the cart wash area shall be cleaned at a minimum of once per week, or as much as necessary to help keep the drain working properly.
• Dirty used towels shall be placed in the corresponding bins to enable proper laundry procedures.
• MEMBER CARTS: clean each member's cart after they play in the same manner the club owned carts are cleaned. Park them (back in) in the staging area outside the Golf Shop.
Miscellaneous
There must be constant movement to perform this role. There should not be any standing around, unless everything covered in these SOP's has been done, the practice facilities are perfectly cleaned, neat and organized, the carts detailed, no trash in the flower beds, cleaned and neat water and soda station, etc.
1. SMILE, SMILE, SMILE: We are in the service business and making people feel great and having them ENJOY THEIR EXPERIENCE is paramount. Thus, please engage the members, ask them how their day is going, ask them if they need any thing, etc.
2. Always refer to members by their surnames only. Do not refer to them by their first names.
3. The best way for this to be done is to be happy yourself. Management wants you to enjoy coming to work.
4. ALWAYS have one (1) person at the podium outside the Golf Shop to monitor the valet circle.
▪ Always keep an eye on hole #9 & #18. If there are groups playing those holes, please make sure to have at least one (1) person awaiting their finish to assist them, clean their clubs, carts, etc.
5. Beverage Station: this should be cleaned every morning, and afternoon using the appropriate cleaning supplies. It should also be wiped down and cleaned in behind the soda and water units, to clear out any debris, etc.
6. OPENING: Place the soda fountain nozzles onto the soda machine and use the soda key to turn the machine on.
7. CLOSING: Remove the soda fountain nozzles each night and place in the sanitizing solution in a cup. Turn the soda fountain off at night and place the key in the stairwell closet.
8. Check the syrup levels of the beverage station and inform when ready to be re-ordered.
9. CLOSING: Take the dirty towels to the laundry room and restock fresh ones in the cart wash area and at the podium in the staging area.
10. CLOSING: lock the bag room door and the stairwell closet door.
11. The golf carts are never clean enough, they can be waxed, shined, water filled in batteries, etc.
12. The pavers, flower beds, practice facilities shall always be checked for trash
13. The practice facilities can never look too good
▪ Rake the bunkers
▪ Pick up and throw away used tees from the range floor
▪ Pick the range floor, wash the golf balls, wipe down the chairs, benches, tee cabinets and take the trash out and replace with a new trash bag, etc.
14. The bag room can always be swept, cleaned and organized better than it was found
• Trash Bins - all trash bins located in the outside operation and all trash bins located in the Golf Shop and Office shall be emptied and replaced with a new trash bag each evening. Ensure the Golf Shop trash is emptied prior to its closing.
1. Cardboard boxes: break them down and throw away when given them from the Golf Shop, unless otherwise asked to keep them.
• Bag Drop - the bag drop area shall be monitored at all times. No member or guest shall have to take out or put back their golf clubs. Additionally, any member or guest who finished playing or practicing, and who is taking their bag with them, shall have their clubs cleaned and placed on the outbound bag rack, and put in their vehicle by a member of our team.
• Grooming Standards - as mentioned, we are representatives of the Club and our appearance shall be representative as such. If you show up to work as not having this appearance, you may be asked to leave and remedy the issue prior to returning.
• Supplies - please ensure we always have enough supplies to perform your job accordingly. Please inform a member of the Professional Staff should you notice supplies are getting low.
• Towels, tees, pencils, ball markers, etc. - please make sure we have enough readily on hand at all times. We do not want to have to “go and get them” for a member or guest, but rather have them readily available at all times.
• Replenish beverage oasis with cups, lids, and straws throughout the day.
• The amenity tower should be constantly stocked with tees, towels, scorecards, pin sheets, divot tools, ball markers, and towels.
• Demo Clubs - please refrain from giving out Demo Clubs and refer them to a member of the Professional staff, unless circumstances dictate otherwise, in which a message must be relayed to a member of the Professional staff promptly.
• Demo Sets/Rental Sets - please refer the member or guest to a member of the Professional staff regarding demo and rental sets. A member of the Professional staff may ask the outside staff to assist a member or guest in giving out a particular demo or rental set.
• When retrieving a rental set be sure to check that it is complete, cleaned, orderly and presentable.
1. If the demo set is missing pieces, a note must be passed along to any member of the professional staff in a timely manner.
• Golf Rules (specifically dress code): Please be aware and observant of the dress code for all members and guests. If you see someone who has their shirt untucked or their hat on backward, etc. please inform them of the Club rules in a nice, and pleasant manner.

This is a non-exempt position, which is semi-skilled work in the operation of a water or wastewater plant on an assigned shift. The employee is expected to earn a "C" Operators license within 24 months of hire. Employees are not expected to be (retained) in trainee positions more than 24 months.
Work involves responsibility for the operation of wastewater or water plants and for the routine maintenance and servicing of equipment and machinery. Employees exercise some independent judgment in making adjustments to machinery, equipment and related control apparatus in accordance with established procedures and standards. Employees ordinarily work independently on an assigned shift and work is reviewed primarily through analyses of charts and reports. Unusual or major problems are reported to a supervisor and/or lead operator(s) as necessary.
Employees are hired as AT WILL employees that serve at the pleasure of the City and may be terminated at any time with or without cause.
All work is performed under the supervision and guidance of a certified utility plantoperator.
On an assigned shift, performs all required chemical analyses; inspects plant equipment and machinery to determine that all machinery is operating properly; takes samples of water or wastewater at various stages of the treatment process; performs routine laboratory analyses to
determine effectiveness of treatment procedures and records results; on the basis of sample results, adjusts control devices for processes to provide effective treatment; inspects and adjusts treatment plant equipment, as it relates to the facilities. Inspects recorders and meters, and make necessary adjustments to control the operations as required.
Performs services and preventive maintenance on a variety of plant equipment and machinery; cleans and paints equipment; assists mechanics in major repairs and in installation work; performs general building maintenance and custodial work at plant.
Instruct new operators in the standard operating procedures. Maintain log on process adjustment and prepares periodic summary reports of operations.
Performs related work in a safe and efficient manner as required and as directed.
This position does not have final procurement authority.
Prepares chemical batches as needed for operation.
Some knowledge of the general operation principles of electrical and mechanical equipment, similar to wastewater or water treatment and pumping plant equipment and machinery.
Some knowledge of the mechanical maintenance and lubrication requirements of the equipment operated.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the trade and of proper use of safety practices.
Ability to earn a "C" Operators License within 24 months of hire.
Ability to make minor repairs to equipment operated.
Ability to accurately follow routine operating and recording procedures, and to understand and follow instructions.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school with supplemental college level courses in wastewater treatment or pollution control. Experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical equipment and machinery similar to that in a water or wastewater treatment plant.
This is a designated "Response" classification in the City's Emergency Operations Plan and will require the employee occupying this position to work for declared emergencies. Attendance at National Incident Management System (NIMS) training at the appropriate level is mandatory.
