About the role As the Assistant Operations Leader in a Wonder restaurant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager in day-to-day operations to ensure the smooth functioning and success of our restaurant. Duties include: * Perform duties required to start, stop, operate and monitor all power plant systems and utilities * Operate power plant equipment and auxiliaries such as oil fired and natural gas fired boilers, combustion turbines, steam turbines, and heat recovery steam generators * Check and adjust operating parameters such as boiler water level, steam pressure, quality of stack emissions, steam temperature, boiler flue gas temperature, furnace pressure, etc. * Detect equipment or system problems, initiate emergency procedures when malfunctions occur, and contact the Lead Power Plant Operator or Supervisor for further instructions * Maintain awareness of personnel within the Plant; safeguard equipment and personnel * At the direction of the Lead Power Plant Operator, tour facility to observe operations, gather required meter readings, and make necessary equipment adjustments * Clean, lubricate, and perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on power plant systems and components such as steam traps, valves, and pipes * Detect and report unusual conditions and/or defective materials to appropriate personnel * Inspect and service power plant equipment as part of annual requirements; report discrepancies to appropriate personnel * Assist higher grade Operators and Mechanics with maintenance and repairs * Maintain various records concerning plant operations to include inspection and maintenance schedules, reports of systems readings, fuel supplies, and orders, etc. * Operate various hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, pipe wrenches, pipe threader, saws, etc. * Maintain work areas and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition * Operate University vehicles in the performance of assigned duties Job Requirements: Requires the use of shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of adjustable measuring instruments and the training generally applicable in a particular or specialized occupation. Primary Responsibilities In general, operate all processing equipment in a safe and environmentally responsible manner to produce high quality ion exchange products in a timely and cost-effective fashion. In general, load raw materials and chemicals, as well as unload and package all finished resin products. In Area 2000, operate pumps, regeneration columns, acid/caustic dilution stations and other equipment to perform chemical regenerations to convert, steam, rinse, hot rinse, backwash, and mix/package processed ion exchange resins to H+ and OH- ionic forms.
