What Does A Plant Protection Supervisor Do At General Dynamics Mission Systems

* As a Security Officer Staff member you will be part of a Security team committed to protecting our national security and employee safety through a multitude of areas.
* Your role as Plant Protection Supervisor will enable you to interface with customers, visitors and employees on a daily basis and develop and utilize skills such as problem solving, teamwork and leadership in a fast paced and ever changing environment.

* In this role, you will be expected to:
* Supervise an established shift operation, officers and administrative functions along with the security central monitoring station during shift assignment, while being responsible for security officer post assignment and services
* Schedule, conduct and oversee officer training
* Prepare shift reports, document and report actual or perceived concerns to security management in a confidential manner
* Conduct preliminary investigations of incidents, complaints and security violations
* Perform administrative task such as scheduling, assignment changes, and time card approval
* Respond to emergencies and coordinates emergency response
* Monitor compliance with fire and safety requirements
* Maintain key control logs and supervise the issuance of locks and keys
* Monitor the condition of assigned vehicles and schedules maintenance to insure reliability, care and cleanliness
* Coordinate equipage of security officers with uniforms and necessary tools to ensure proper task preparation and to ensure all officers present a professional image
* Conduct problem-solving meetings
* Oversee distribution of shift schedules to ensure adequate personnel coverage
* Evaluate and define performance capabilities, reviews and evaluates on-the-job training for officers
* Provide team performance feedback for completion of Employee performance assessments
* Liaison between officers and management to ensure lines of communication remain open
* Perform a variety of complex assignments as requested by clients and customers
* Create and maintain accurate records as assigned by management
* Screen and verify access authorization and registers employees, clients, customers, sponsors, vendors and contractors at ingress and egress points
* Maintain surveillance at ingress and egress points
* Operate emergency notification, paging, and telephone and radio systems
* Monitor and control personnel and material traffic at ingress and egress points in accordance with company policy
* Monitor CCTV, alarm and access control systems and other physical security and emergency systems
* Monitor the movement of company and personal material in compliance with established company property procedures
* Respond, document, and conduct preliminary investigations for incidents involving theft, injury and violations of company policies
* Perform patrol of facility and grounds to include interior and exterior of buildings to ensure established security, safety and facility environmental programs are in compliance
* Enforce company and Department of Defense (DOD) security rules and regulations
* Operate the company switchboard operations
* Administer First Aid, CPR aid until appropriate medical response arrives
* Respond to alarms and other emergency situations
* Notify Crisis Management Team contacts when required
* Debrief employees possessing a Department of Defense (DOD) Personnel Clearance (PCL) and assists in completion of security questionnaires and related documents when individuals are exiting employment after normal business hours
* Perform single or limited number of clerical and administrative tasks to support Security Department functions
* Assist with on-the-job training for entry-level Security Officers
* Provide input to security management for security procedures and policies improvement
* Assume leadership responsibilities and advises subordinates in resolving issues, processes and problems in absence of the department manager
* Review, troubleshoot and recommend changes and improvements on existing processes
* Initiate and distribute shift schedules to ensure adequate personnel coverage
* Implement published security directives
* Assist in assigning duties, tasks, prioritizing work assignments and monitoring work flow
* Take responsibility for training all Security Officers, both proprietary and contract
* Review security updates, post orders, and recommends changes
* Maintain policy and procedure manuals relevant to the Security Officers
