What Does A Planting Machine Operator Do At Shaw Industries Inc.

* Perform creeling procedures to include threading and tie-in of yarn using a weave knot or air splicer as required.
* Patrol job and check for breakouts.
* Perform doffing procedures to include removal of full packages of yarn, stacking on buggies or cases, and replacing with empty cones.
* Start up ends, repair broken ends and replace ends into machines.
* Monitor/patrol job, check for off-quality yarn, slack twist yarn, and mixed yarns.
* Remove off-quality yarn from yarn packages.
* Check yarn for defects, cut off all suspicious yarn for reprocessing, check machine creel and winder for correct thread-up.
* Keep work areas clean and safe.
* Communicate quality/safety/mechanical problems or concerns to supervisor.
* Must adhere to company attendance policy

* Operates a Formax Machine, Hollymatic, Vemag, grinders, and packaging machines
* Counts all finished cases and records them on appropriate logs and makes sure all product is packed according to specifications
* Separates rework from paper and places them in bins for rework and tracks all weights of rework product and records on appropriate forms.
* Cleans around work areas.
* Assists in all other areas of ground beef production line, including equipment setup and breakdown, box making, casing, labeling, stacking, weighing, recordkeeping, etc.
* Follows HACCAP regulations, Shamrock Policies, and safety procedures
