Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA. This is a contract-to-hire position with the goal of transitioning to full-time employment. As a Humanoid Robot Operator, you'll have the unique opportunity to work directly with our humanoid robots to test and validate new behaviors and skills. You will be at the forefront of our operations, deploying the robots for real commercial use cases, identifying issues, and properly filing JIRA tickets to relay failures to the appropriate teams. The Robotic Welder Operator works with little or no instruction in performing robotic welding of steel in various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses as needed for projects. Duties and Responsibilities: Programs, sets-up, and operates robotic welder. Builds or modifies tooling for product and new design. Complete fit-up of structure, pipe and accessories for vessels. Welds in multiple positions. Trains and mentor others. Identify various metals and alloys such as mild & high strength steel, aluminum, and stainless as well as identify structural shapes. Use measuring devices and gauges to determine thickness and size of metal. Use oxygen/acetylene torch for cutting metals. Use grinder and other hand or power tools required to grind, bevel, or fit metals together, and remove slag. Essential Functions Performs typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floor. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts. Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding and all bench operations and inspections. Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above. Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up. Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness and quality system awareness. Work Environment Manufacturing plant environment with extreme fluctuation in temperature. Must be able to work in a noisy environment. Job expectations include monitoring and executing on production plans by operating high speed manufacturing equipment. Line of Business Job Description: A first level position requiring the operation of insertion and printing equipment for processing customer statements and other customer communications for a world class statement processor. The position requires an individual who is production and quality focused and who is capable of working in a high volume and demanding continuous production environment. Associates will be exposed to 5S and Lean Principles and will be expected to comply and exhibit behaviors consistent with 5S and Lean. The individual must be a self-starter, able to be cross-trained on multiple pieces of equipment (high speed and low speed), a team player, organized, and results oriented with exceptional work habits. Physical stamina, flexibility in work schedule, and decision-making ability are also required. Position requires compliance with all department policies and safety regulations. This position will work under the direct supervision of the shift leader(s). Schedule: 2nd Shift Monday through Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm Responsibilities: Operates insertion and printing equipment at a basic proficiency level while meeting production and quality standards under supervision Oversees machine set-up and inspects parts with precision prior to production initiating Stands for long periods and is able to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds as required Executes routine quality inspections of printed and inserted material for accuracy and integrity Completes paperwork and day-to-day tasks in compliance with all policies, procedures, safety regulations, and 5S principles Communicates with department peers, supervisors, vendor representatives, and other departments to work effectively in a team environment Cross-trains on multiple pieces of equipment and in reconcilement functions as required Operates insertion and printing equipment at a basic proficiency level while meeting production and quality standards under supervision Become operationally proficient on insertion and printing equipment while meeting basic production and quality standards. Required Qualifications: Ability to operate insertion and printing equipment at a basic competence level to process customer statements and other customer communications on high speed printers and rendering equipment for mailing through the United States Postal Service.
