Sign Language Interpreters are assigned some combination of the following duties:
* Perform effective sign language interpreting and transliterating services for students, faculty and staff according to accepted American Sign Language/English interpreting procedures.
* Provide sign language and English interpreting and transliterating for deaf and hard of hearing students, faculty and staff in both educational and non-academic settings..
* Serve as an interpreter at various campus events including department meetings, student orientations, professional development activities, counseling appointments, placement procedures, field trips, theatrical productions and other extracurricular activities.
* Provide educational interpreting for students in a lecture environment and individualized instruction.
* Serve as a liaison between the deaf and hearing impaired students, school faculty and staff; explain the needs and concerns of students.
* Consult with faculty to identify potential problems that could inhibit the effective provision of interpreting services including instructional materials or closed-caption equipment.
* Video Remote interpreting may be required depending on the structure of the course or event.

GENERAL PURPOSE
Under general supervision, provides vocational instruction support in the electrical/electronics trades program, including networking and robotics; prepares equipment, materials, supplies and training aids for classroom instruction and student laboratory assignments; provides instruction and assists students in the proper use and operation of computer and shop equipment and tools; maintains a clean, safe and orderly learning environment; and performs related duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Vocational Instructional Technician - Electrical/Electronics is responsible for assisting in maintaining, operating and providing support for the District's electrical, electronics, networking and robotics instructional program, including ordering and maintaining an inventory of equipment, tools, supplies and materials and preparing equipment, materials, tools and training aids for class instruction, demonstrations and student laboratory exercises. We have an exciting opportunity for a Communication Studies Instructor position located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks a Communication Studies Instructor to teach and develop courses in Communication Studies. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. The DMS Advisor supports the DMS program in all aspects of his/her duties. Assists the DMS Program Director and Clinical Coordinator with daily organizational and administrative functions and students' needs as directed. These include:
New start paperwork for DMS and presentations, distributing scrubs, scheduling and organizing immunizations/vaccinations
Helps the Clinical Coordinator as needed
Helps career services with presentations, PAC meeting efforts, and employment placement efforts
Certified CPR trainer for the DMS program, and other programs as needed
Schedules and oversees Fire Safety class during DMS 255 (pre-clinical seminar)
Helps students with SPI tutoring and testing (including scheduling)
Supports students during lab assignments and other program requirements
Assists Lab Aid with orders/inventory
Assists with DMS Program open lab hours
Additional duties and responsibilities as determined
Exhibit excellent customer service and professionalism to all current students, prospective students and coworkers from all departments at all times
Special Requirements:
Overtime as requested by supervisor - may include: evenings, weekends and/or holidays

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemistry Instructor position located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks a Chemistry Instructor to teach and develop courses in Chemistry. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. The ideal candidate is student-oriented in their approach and dedicated to student success and will be skilled in generating student engagement in learning and will create welcoming learning environments that are equity-based and culturally affirming. Full-time faculty are typically assigned 15 lecture hours (or the equivalent in laboratory, studio or related activities) of student contact time per week. Office hours are also required. Faculty are expected to participate in college governance through Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus, off-campus, and online classes.
Initial placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with education and experience, not to exceed step five (5) on the assigned salary schedule. Step five (5) may be exceeded if the district determines an extraordinary need, or circumstance warrants a higher placement. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. This Academic assignment requires 176 service days per academic year.
While this current vacancy is expected at the San Jacinto Campus, applicants may be assigned to any district facility.
