GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
PlaygroundAide will provide supervision on the playground for students. The primary responsibility is to supervise the overall safety of students while they are on the playground.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*):
* Help students into and out of the cafeteria when recess begins and is over.
* Identify any safety hazards on the playground including helping to determine if the weather is suitable for outdoor recess.
* Supervise classrooms when recess is indoors.
* Help in the lunchroom when recess is not occurring.
* Communicate and collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and school/District staff.
* Requisition and acquire material, supplies, and equipment as needed to carry out functions of the playground.
* Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
* Participate in professional development training as assigned.
* Meet the professional expectations of attendance, suitable attire and decorum, participation in school and District meetings/functions, and support of District initiatives.
* Respond to specific requests from the Principal/District Administrator(s) on matters affecting the program and operation of the District.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School diploma or equivalent; additional professional training preferred.
* Good health and good attendance record.
* Additional qualifications as the Board of Education may require.
* Obtain a Pupil Activity Permit.
PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
* Able to access office, meeting rooms, work room, and appropriate areas of school and District property and facilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities may include:
Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities - our goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that their health and safety needs are being met at all times.
Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life.
Transporting the individuals between their homes and the Day Program through the use of a company, passenger van.
Providing personal care assistance.
Participating in community outings through the transportation and assistance of the individuals served.
Requirements for this position include:
At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license.
Fewer than 6 points in the last two years on your motor vehicle record.
Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch.

You must be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting persons after a fall.

JOB SUMMARY:
The paraprofessional will support students with emotional and behavioral disabilities in a self-contained special education classroom. Under the direction of certified teaching staff and related service providers, the paraprofessional will assist in implementing instructional programs, promoting social-emotional growth, managing behaviors, and supporting student safety and engagement in learning activities. The paraprofessional will also support students across various school environments, including but not limited to lunch, recess, hallways, transportation areas, and inclusion in general education classrooms, to promote consistency and generalization of skills throughout the school day.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional Support:
Assist the teacher in implementing individual education programs (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and classroom routines.
Support students in small groups or one-on-one settings under the direction of certified staff.
Adapt and modify instructional materials as needed.
Help maintain a structured, predictable, and supportive learning environment.
Utilize strategies aligned with positive behavior supports and trauma-informed practices.
Behavioral Support:
Assist in observing, recording, and reporting behavioral data and student progress.
Implement de-escalation strategies and interventions under the supervision of certified staff.
Provide consistent reinforcement of behavioral goals and expectations.
Maintain student dignity and confidentiality at all times.
Classroom & Student Supervision:
Monitor student activities and ensure student safety within the classroom, school grounds, and during transitions.
Escort students to/from activities, therapy sessions, or other school environments as needed.
Support classroom management systems and routines.
Assist with crisis intervention and follow district procedures for responding to behavioral incidents.
Collaboration & Professionalism:
