Responsibilities
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Booking & scheduling all shipments within the assigned Account Executive / team.
Understand metrics that lead to team profitability including call center statistics, revenue
& net revenue, variance to target, variance to max, load counts, etc.
Direct communication with the Account Executives and Leadership team.
Identify and solve capacity shortfalls within the team.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of various systems, technology, and
tools to locate and secure various equipment types for customer shipments.
Assign carriers to move shipments based on shipment information.
Profitability: Choose carriers based on service levels and profitability targets.
Negotiate carrier rates (under targets).
Ensure all loads are covered that are expected to ship each day.
Assist with the training and development of all new logisticscoordinators and AET's
through shadowing, best practice sharing, and technical support
Maintain productive working relationships with customer representatives, motor carriers,
and PLS employees
Monitor carrier performance and report carrier failures
Other duties as required by business needs or as assigned.
Qualifications

YOUR ROLE
Responsible for providing more comprehensive to specialized logistics and transportation engineering functions, assisting with serving as a lead to staff and leading or coordinating various projects or functions. Role Summary
The Project Logistics Manager - Execution owns end-to-end execution for project-based logistics programs once a deal is signed. Project Planning & Program Setup
Translate signed scopes into executable project plans with clear milestones, owners, budgets, and timelines

Coordinate transportation, warehousing, final-mile, and site delivery requirements
Establish program-level SOPs, communication cadence, and escalation paths at kickoff
Set up projects in the company's TMS and supporting execution tools
Project Execution
Own end-to-end execution for project freight, including phased deliveries, time-sensitive moves, and complex routing
Coordinate with carriers, warehouses, ports, rigging crews, and site contacts
Manage daily execution updates, exception handling, and recovery planning
Maintain clean execution records including timestamps, PODs, permits, and closeout documentation
Be physically present on-site at ports, yards, warehouses, or customer locations when execution requires hands-on oversight
Client Communication & Accountability
Serve as the primary execution contact for assigned programs
Provide proactive updates rather than reactive explanations
Run operational calls based on program complexity and customer expectations

Identify and recommend enhancements to improve management and integrity of the inventory WMS system.
Create, implement and update inventory operational Standard Operating Procedures.
Develop process and procedures for vendor compliance when applicable.

Requirements:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to develop and document processes, procedures, and write policies.
Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and customers.
Capable of operating standard warehouse equipment.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of warehouse operations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ability to manage the financial aspects of a department (purchasing, budget preparations and review, financial reporting and monitoring expenses).
Proficient in the use of analytical techniques such as statistical probability distribution, correlation, data sampling and relating sets of numbers.
PC literate. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications including Access or similar database software. Minimum five years experience in SAP utilization, user proficiency and training, troubleshooting and resolution with programmers.
Advanced skill in creating Excel Spreadsheets for analysis in the use of macros, pivot tables, v-lookup, formulas for calculating results and reporting variances.
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to analyze complex transactional processes. Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, presentation and negotiating skills.
Demonstrated ability in making customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; develop and sustain productive relationships.
