WHAT YOU'LL DO
Technical lead for electricalengineering team, creating embedded compute solutions for vehicle management, DSP, and networking.
Own the full PCB development cycle of host boards for FPGAs / SoCs / SoMs (Developing requirements, schematic capture, board layout, bring-up, test, and integration).
Develop and improve workflows throughout the FPGA / HDL design cycle (Architecture, functional block definition, simulation, system testing, HDL library standardization).
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop a strategy for developing and rolling out your compute solutions across Anduril in a scalable manner.
Create, maintain and communicate product development schedules with sufficient detail to ensure that all assigned personnel are aware of their tasks and deadlines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in ElectricalEngineering or equivalent
7+ years of experience designing, testing and troubleshooting complex board designs in military, automotive or similar hardware.
Experience with leading an ElectricalEngineering team focused on Digital Design
Proficiency in an HDL language (VHDL, Verilog)
Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
Experience in design for signal integrity / power integrity.
Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current-probes, and automation of tests.
Proficient with Altium Designer or equivalent electronic design automation design tool
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance

US Salary Range$170,000-$213,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Qualifications:

Job purpose:
The ElectricalEngineering Manager leads the engineering department in planning, designing, and implementing projects to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective electric service to the members of Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC). This position is responsible for supervising engineering staff, managing substation, distribution, and system improvement projects, performing system studies, and aligning engineering practices with cooperative goals. The ElectricalEngineering Manager serves as a key technical expert and ensures compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and regulations.
Job dimensions:
Internal Responsibilities - Directly supervises engineers and technical personnel involved in system planning, design, protection, and support. Coordinates closely with operations, safety, and IT departments to ensure engineering work supports field operations and strategic initiatives. Oversee the preparation of work plans, technical studies, feasibility assessments, and system impact analyses. Promotes a safety-first culture by ensuring all engineering activities support DREMC's safety goals and standards.
External Responsibilities - Supports DREMC efforts with the State of Tennessee, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), National Electrical Safety Code, auditors, builders, members, and consultants, as necessary. Coordinates and collaborates with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), contractors, vendors, consultants, and regulatory bodies. Ensures timely responses to external inquiries from members, developers, builders, and governmental agencies. Represents DREMC in technical discussions and planning efforts with peer cooperatives, municipalities, and stakeholders.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Lead and manage the engineering team in the development and execution of construction work plans, long-range system planning, and technical studies.
2. Oversee design, construction, and commissioning of substations, circuit upgrades, sectionalizing schemes, and major service projects.
3. Manage electrical service designs for commercial and industrial members, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards including TVA, NESC, NEC, and DREMC standards.
4. Review engineering analysis related to line extensions, cost studies, protection coordination, and voltage support.
5. Approve system modifications, protection settings, and service upgrades as necessary, coordinating with field personnel and management.
6. Respond to high-level member concerns and technical complaints, including voltage issues and service reliability.
7. Lead emergency response engineering activities, including damage assessments and system restoration efforts.
8. Guide the implementation of engineering software tools, data integration, and digital mapping systems to enhance department efficiency.
9. Provide mentorship and performance evaluations for engineering staff; identify training needs and support professional development.
10. Ensure regulatory and environmental compliance in all engineering projects and maintain proper documentation for audits or inspections.
11. Serve as liaison with TVA and other external agencies for coordination of substation relay settings, transmission interconnection, and reliability improvement.
12. Support budgeting and financial planning for engineering-related capital projects.
13. Be able to develop system work plan recommendations and support technical studies involving major service projects, system improvements, conversion projects, sectionalizing and substation improvements.
14. Analyzes line extension construction costs, rate structure, and other factors affecting variable and fixed costs to determine operating margins, amortization terms, supplemental line charts, deposits, facilities rental charges, special billing demands, and monthly minimum billing provisions.
15. Reviews communications, plans, drawings and other data received from architects and/or consulting engineers relating to electrical service inquiries, and develops appropriate technical data from field investigations, surveys, calculations and other necessary activities to properly respond and comply with requested information.
16. Advises contract electricians and/or consumer/members regarding short circuit current available at the Cooperative's point of delivery, when requested for large industrial and commercial jobs, other more general requests required in conformity with all relevant procedures, specifications, and applicable codes, regulations, compliance rules and standards.
17. Investigates unusual consumer complaints, circuit voltage complaints and other problems requiring technical assistance.
18. Develops and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the entire DREMC system.
19. Directs construction of substation switch structures, fencing, grading and other general site development, and coordinated/schedules related activities necessary.
20. Approves system protection and sectionalizing changes upon request of and consultation with district personnel, where deemed necessary and technically compatible for coordination with overall circuit/substation protection, subject to the approval/authorization of the Director of Engineering.
21. Develop substation relays setting change recommendation for coordinating with TVA source-side relay changes, or DREMC load-side circuit sectionalizing changes.
22. Provide support for system operations, as needed.
23. Supports DRMEC economic development and industrial recruitment efforts by working closely with DREMC economic development personnel and appropriate external economic development entities.
24. Emergency Response Coverage, as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in ElectricalEngineering (Power Option preferred) from an accredited program required. Master's degree in ElectricalEngineering is desirable.
Experience:
Minimum seven (7) years' progressive experience in electric utility engineering, including system design, substation projects, or distribution planning. At least three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience are preferred.
Certification/License, etc.:
Valid Tennessee Driver's License or ability to obtain Tennessee driver's license prior to first day of employment. Must be eligible and remain insured as a driver by the Cooperative's group liability policy for the automotive fleet. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficient in electric utility engineering software (e.g., Windmill, CYME, or similar). Advanced knowledge of electrical codes (NESC, NEC), safety standards, and utility operations. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools. Ability to interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, GIS maps, and load data. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing while working on a computer or attending meetings. Occasional walking, bending, kneeling, or lifting (up to 25 pounds) in field or warehouse environments. This leadership role oversees a talented engineering team responsible for maintaining and optimizing SCADA systems and data communication networks that support reliable water and wastewater operations across multiple districts. What you'd be responsible for
Provide leadership to engineering team responsible for maintaining and optimizing SCADA systems and data communication networks and ensure secure and reliable operations across water and wastewater facilities in the Central Operations District.
Lead and supervise the work of Instrumentation & Controls Engineers, including monitoring the progress of project status, software development and system troubleshooting. Champion team standards and industry best practices in process control systems (such as ISA-101) and serve as a resource for their implementation. Coach team members with appropriate feedback on projects and workstyles.
Act as a technical expert. This role may be responsible for and/or assigned specific higher-level projects. Lead and train new and existing employees on EPCOR automation standards for Water and Waste Water control systems.
Manage contractor projects for installation of process control equipment including scoping and bidding of work. Balance simultaneous contractor projects at multiple sites and across water systems.
Develop and maintain effective partnerships with Operations, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate successful delivery of varied initiatives.
Effectively lead the team by holding routine one-on-one meetings, approving timecards, expense reports and coaching them through the annual performance review process.
Work with controls staff & production personnel implementing appropriate policies, standards, practices, and guidelines for all phases of process control system implementation and maintenance in alignment with program strategic direction.
What's required to be successful
Requires a 4-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered.
8+ years of Progressively responsible experience in SCADA systems or OT Cyber Security Systems focused on design, programming and implementation that includes 1 year of experience.
Managing teams working on complex technical applications (regulated-industry experience is preferred).
Requires proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC's.
Able to program AOI's and UDT's from scratch.
Skilled in Aveva System Platform and OMI.
Hands-on experience with communication networks, telemetry integration, and VLAN technologies.
Requires knowledge of business applications,
Microsoft Office products and productivity tools (e.g. MS Word, Excel, OneNote).
Requires strong management skills.
Must have valid driver's license with good driving record.

The Opportunity
We are seeking an Associate ElectricalEngineer who is responsible for performing general electricalengineering tasks including the design, coordination, and technical support of electrical power distribution, construction, and related systems for commercial, industrial, and government projects.
Key Responsibilities
ElectricalEngineering & Design -
Perform design of electrical power distribution, lighting, and related systems for commercial, industrial, and government projects; develop electricalengineering and design scopes of work; perform electricalengineering calculations and studies; prepare drawings suitable for permit, construction, and competitive bidding; and perform CAD work.
Technical Documentation & Specifications -
Prepare technical specifications; specify equipment and materials and assist in obtaining pricing from suppliers; support preparation and review of submittals, product data, and shop drawings; perform specification reviews; and support document control activities.
Project Coordination & Collaboration -
Coordinate with other engineering and construction disciplines; coordinate with electric utility companies; assist estimators and project managers with electrical designs, value engineering, and code interpretation; support RFI generation and review; and assist with ACC Build project setup.
Field Support & Construction Assistance -
Provide guidance to field personnel during construction; assist with equipment startup, troubleshooting, and code interpretation; and conduct field surveys to observe existing conditions and gather project information.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement -
Meet with customers to clarify scope of work and consult on technical or constructability issues and professionally represent IB Abel with clients, utilities, and project partners.
Operational Support -
Support Electrical Services Operations as needed to ensure successful project execution and assist with ongoing project documentation, coordination, and compliance requirements.
Who We're Looking For
Bachelor of Science in ElectricalEngineering or ElectricalEngineering Technology.
0-2 years in the practice of ElectricalEngineering, focusing on power systems.
Licensure: EIT preferred or ability to obtain EIT.
Proficient in the use of Revit, AutoCAD, AGi32, ETAP, and Bluebeam Revu as well as MS Office applications with strong skills in Excel, Word, and MS Project.
Local to Pennsylvania (preferable) but with regular travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites and yard locations for offsite meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate).
A “can-do” attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
