The Quality Technician will audit, test and measure finished goods to ensure customer standards are met as well as follow our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Technician will audit, test and measure finished goods to ensure customer standards are met as well as follow our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
Apply statistical tools and techniques to monitor plant performance and finished goods.
Complete laboratory testing and collect samples at established intervals.
Continually seek process improvements and make recommendations to management.
Audit compliance with GMP policies.
Performs process inspections during molding, packaging and loading.
Audit for compliance to control plan requirements including process parameters.
Perform incoming inspection of raw materials.
Complete dimensional checks and report on product.
Perform in-process inspections of manufactured product during molding, packaging and loading.
Perform cycle counts and/or inventory of finished goods as required.
Communicate quality issues and out of specifications conditions to appropriate personnel and with shift leaders.
Other duties as assigned by management.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Safety & Quality Coordinator who is responsible for analyzing and developing safety plans, risk assessments, and pre-job briefings; keeping training certifications current; and spending time with field workforce to provide safety and quality leadership for projects related to electrical and utility services.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Quality Planning and Compliance

Review all contract documents to become familiar with project safety and quality requirements and obligations; assure complete and thorough pre-construction planning, as it relates to Safety & Quality, and provide necessary guidance or documentation during preconstruction; facilitate a Site-Specific Safety Plan review with the Project leadership; and attend pre-construction meetings and provide input or any necessary safety and quality responsibilities.
Documentation and Record Management

Upload Safety & Quality documents to SharePoint or server for customers, vendors, and subcontractors; and maintain organized and accurate records to support compliance and communication across project teams.
Communication, Coaching and Collaboration
-
Communicate and coach customer safety requirements to ensure understanding and compliance at all project levels; and attend project meetings as needed representing the company on safety and quality matters.
Continuous Improvement and Professional Development
- Stay current on industry standards, regulations, and work practices; and continue education through professional certifications and training.
Who Were Looking For
Electrical Journeyman classification; or Bachelors degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school as well as 5-years related safety experience and training.
Prior instructor training or experience with instructor certifications preferred.
OSHA 10, 30, 500 training as well as OSHA training and development training.
CSP, CUSP or other related safety certification preferred.
Confined Space Entry Trainer and CPR/First Aid Instructor desirable.
Proficient in MS Office applications with strong skills in Excel, Word, and MS Project.
Local to Pennsylvania (preferable) but with regular travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites and yard locations for offsite meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate).

About the Role:
U.S. Pipe is seeking a Production Technician to join our team This position is part of a cross-trained team which is responsible for the manufacturing of ductile iron pipe from molten metal.
Specific Responsibilities:
Cleans and prepares trough by removing foreign material and coats and maintains trough and trough chute making refractory repairs to trough and chute as required.
Maintains material supplies for work area (blacking, refractory, paint, cement, etc.)
Operates production machinery to produce good quality pipe.
Visually inspects core, places core on core setter, visually inspects mold for presence of foreign material, checks for proper alignment of trough in casting machine.
Operates pipe pullers to extract pipe; visually inspects pipe for defects; removes broken pipe from machine when necessary.
Transfers pipe from Casting to annealing ovens and processes pipe through the ovens in accordance with written procedures and oral instructions.
Tests pipe for ductility and pressure.
Transports pipe to next workstation or to packaging area.

Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports on the status of I&E QA/QC activities, including non-conformities and corrective actions taken.
Ensure that all necessary testing equipment and tools are available, calibrated, and functioning correctly.
Witness and validate the testing and commissioning of I&E systems prior to final acceptance and handover.
Collaborate with safety personnel to ensure that all I&E work is conducted in a safe manner and adheres to safety standards.
Manage and maintain inspection records and quality assurance documentation to support project quality records and certification packages.

Attend required and refresher training related to company requirements.

Skill Requirements
Intermediate computer skills required - Microsoft Office experience, Word, Excel, Teams.
Candidate should be able to read and understand electrical schematic and mechanical drawings.
Adaptability to changes in the work environment, delays, unexpected events, etc.
Strong knowledge of power distribution systems and testing methods (SWGR, MCC, SWBDS, etc.)
Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation engineering principles and best practices.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&ID's, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as ANSI, ASTM, ASME, NEMA, API, and NEC.
Experience with inspection of electrical and instrumentation installations, including wiring, switchgear, control panels, and associated equipment.
Proficiency in using various measurement and test equipment for electrical and instrumentation inspection.
Ability to manage and maintain inspection documentation and quality records.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address quality issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with project teams and contractors.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
Required Education and Experience
3 or more years' experience as a Quality Inspector, Testing Technician, or Production Process Lead in a facility with a certified QMS (ISO 9001, API, etc.)
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
American Society for Quality, Certified Quality Control Inspector (CQI) preferred.
