Job Summary: Bizzell US is seeking an experienced Plumber with substantial facilities maintenance expertise to join our Facilities Maintenance and Management team at NASA AMES. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across the JPL campus, ensuring that all facilities operate efficiently and safely. Please note: This job posting is part of a contract bid opportunity and is intended to identify potential candidates for inclusion in our proposal to a client. This is not an immediate job opening. Employment is contingent upon the award of the contract. Responsibilities: • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures. • Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify and resolve issues. • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity and reliability of plumbing systems. • Collaborate with the facilities maintenance team to support overall campus operations. • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes. • Respond to emergency plumbing calls and provide solutions in a timely manner. • Utilize hand and power tools, as well as specialized plumbing equipment. • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with industry standards and best practices. Requirements: Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in plumbing preferred. • Valid plumbing license. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing with a strong emphasis on facilities maintenance. • Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and tools. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces. • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to plumbing and facilities maintenance. • Previous experience working in a high-tech or research facility preferred. • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus. • Knowledge of green building practices and sustainability initiatives preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 30 pounds at a time.
