Journeyman travel nationally and work under the supervision of our Crew Leaders, typically on teams of 4 to 6 members. The Materials Helper assists the Senior Storekeeper with their responsibilities as they apply to warehouse activities, including but not limited to the following: + Organize and inventory warehouse materials + Prepare materials for outgoing shipment + Maintain clean work environment
+ Assist customers and employees with locating materials
+ Assist customers and employees with loading and unloading of materials
**Note:**
This is a position covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Georgia Power and IBEW Local 84 and is governed by this agreement. Union membership is optional. The starting salary (non-negotiable) is governed by this agreement which includes an increase every six months assuming satisfactory performance, until you max out in your job classification and a negotiated general increase every July.
**Job Experience and Education**
High School diploma or equivalent is required
+ Warehouse related experience and/or background is highly preferred
+ Successful completion of the Warehouse Assessment Test is required
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
+ Ability to follow instructions and translate those instructions into action items
+ Computer literacy desirable.
+ Must be able to interact with various internal customers
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs continuously/repetitively is required
+ May be required to travel to other Region Storerooms to assist as needed
+ Ability to work overtime and storm duty when necessary
