Essential Job Functions: Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution wastewater disposal and gas piping in all City facilities. Maintains the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing and repair pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures. Maintains and provides the safe operation and condition of all plumbing systems. Able to install supports and hangers for pipe fixtures and equipment. Receive and complete assigned work requests independently. Responds to work requests in a timely manner and able to access and diagnose the source of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as needed. Install drain, waste, vent systems hot/cold domestic water systems and natural gas systems. Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper; maintain accurate records on material and labor hours; estimate jobs and materials as needed; work with other employees and immediate supervision to complete projects.
