Role Description:
The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for the maintenance, installation, repair, and modification of all piping and plumbing systems and equipment and 2 life safety functions throughout DC Water.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Performs installation and repair of piping/plumbing systems and equipment. Installs bathrooms, kitchens, and performs remodeling functions. Keeps all plumbing operable at the outside pumping stations. Installs and replaces hot water heaters. Repairs and/or replaces roof drains. Responds to plumbing emergencies on DC Water properties.
* Maintains 2 of DC Water's Life Safety functions which includes backflow preventions (keeping drinking water safe and fit to drink) and Fire Safety System which consists of checking and resetting alarm panel; repairing and relocating sprinkle systems; delivering and hanging fire extinguishers; checking and maintaining fire pumps and smoke detectors; inspecting and repairing emergency eye wash shower system; etc.
* Performs a variety of troubleshooting requirements to ascertain the cause(s) of problems and/or malfunctions of the plumbing system.
* Coordinates work with other trades and operational personnel if needed.
* Transport materials and equipment to job site and performs repairs and/or installations.
* Tests systems and repair equipment for proper operation.
* Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced employees.
* Operates DC Water vehicles as an essential function of the position. Maintains vehicles and/or equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Reports any operating deficiencies to the appropriate DC Water personnel.
* Flushes water lines and water fountains.
* Performs daily and monthly preventive maintenance and makes minor repairs to a variety of equipment and systems.
* Complies with the Authority's occupational safety and health policies and procedures.
* The incumbent is subject to being placed on call during hours and schedule identified by DC Water.
* Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.

**Amentum** is looking for a **Plumber** to join our team in **Washington DC.** You will work independently to perform construction and maintenance actions of a Journeyman Plumber at our customer's Government site. **Responsibilities include the following:**
+ Install and repair pipes and fixtures and open clogged drains
+ Install vents and traps in the plumbing system, in accordance with required codes
+ Utilize appropriate plumbing and shop tools
+ Work from preventive maintenance schedules
+ Assist outside contractors, as required, with knowledge of facilities, operations, and utilities
+ Cut openings in floors and walls to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
+ Cut and thread pipe
+ Bend pipe as required
+ Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
+ Perform other job-related work as assigned
+ Check systems for leaks
+ Direct other repair personnel, as assigned
**Minimum requirements:**
+ Must have a valid Journeyman Plumbing license
+ Must have or obtain within one year and maintain Back Flow Prevention Testing and Maintenance certification
+ A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
+ **Must be a U.S. Citizen**

**Compensation**
This position is compensated at an hourly rate of $ **45.29** , in accordance with the terms set forth in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

+ Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued at an hourly rate of 3.08 hours per pay period.
+ Sick Leave is accrued at a rate of 3.69 hours per pay period.

Role Description:
The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for the maintenance, installation, repair, and modification of all piping and plumbing systems and equipment and 2 life safety functions throughout DC Water.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs installation and repair of piping/plumbing systems and equipment. Installs bathrooms, kitchens, and performs remodeling functions. Keeps all plumbing operable at the outside pumping stations. Installs and replaces hot water heaters. Repairs and/or replaces roof drains. Responds to plumbing emergencies on DC Water properties.
Maintains 2 of DC Water's Life Safety functions which includes backflow preventions (keeping drinking water safe and fit to drink) and Fire Safety System which consists of checking and resetting alarm panel; repairing and relocating sprinkle systems; delivering and hanging fire extinguishers; checking and maintaining fire pumps and smoke detectors; inspecting and repairing emergency eye wash shower system; etc.
Performs a variety of troubleshooting requirements to ascertain the cause(s) of problems and/or malfunctions of the plumbing system.
Coordinates work with other trades and operational personnel if needed.
Transport materials and equipment to job site and performs repairs and/or installations.
Tests systems and repair equipment for proper operation.
Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced employees.
Operates DC Water vehicles as an essential function of the position. Maintains vehicles and/or equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Reports any operating deficiencies to the appropriate DC Water personnel.
Flushes water lines and water fountains.
Performs daily and monthly preventive maintenance and makes minor repairs to a variety of equipment and systems.
Complies with the Authority's occupational safety and health policies and procedures.
The incumbent is subject to being placed on call during hours and schedule identified by DC Water.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.
