Assists in locating and marking position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors. Assists with cutting openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Assists with cutting and threading pipes. Assists in joining pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints. Assists in filling pipe systems with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking. Assists in installation and repair of plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, and water softeners. Performs maintenance, plumbing and repair work assigned while maintaining a high standard of safety cleanliness, and efficiency. Drives District vehicles to and from work site; obeys all traffic laws. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Maintains confidentiality. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required.
