THE OPPORTUNITY Assembles, installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs building plumbing, heating and hot water (gas and oil fired) system components at Babson College; adjusts those systems as necessary for optimal performance and maintains compliance with state/local building and plumbing codes/regulations by performing the following essential duties. WHAT YOU WILL DO Measures, cuts, threads, assembles, fastens piping and plumbing fixtures/components; caulks joints as necessary to effect repairs to damaged or leaking toilets, sinks, etc., and other building/structure/field plumbing components. Responds to and corrects deficiencies identified in service order work slips executing new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable repairs, while meeting manufacturers' installation specifications and local plumbing codes/requirements. Other duties as assigned - for example, provides help and assistance to other department trade group members as needed in the completion of work tasks; provides appropriate support in major campus events such as commencement and opening of school.
