Assembles pipe sections, tubing, fittings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers or water heaters, and fixtures such as sinks or toilets, using hand or power tools.
Keeps detailed records of work progress and customer interactions.
Direct helpers engaged in pipe cutting, pre-assembly, or installation of plumbing systems or components.
Conducts appropriate tests to ensure successful completion of each plumbing job.
Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
Required Qualifications:
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
New Hampshire Journeyman Plumber License or eligible to obtain License
Experience working with HVAC, Boilers, and Hydronics systems
Residential service and installation experience
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Strong finger and Manual dexterity for handling pipes and plumbing fixtures
Detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in reading blueprints
Knowledge of HVAC equipment desired
EPA Universal Certification desired
High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities
Plans, prepares, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.
Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.
Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps; cuts or bores holes prior to project.
Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations and best practices.
Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Successful completion of a four-year apprenticeship that included classroom and on-the-job instruction in pipefitting or related field.
Required state licenses
Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
Prior commercial experience
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Must be able to lift, push, and pull in excess of 50 pounds
