Key Responsibilities
Cut openings in walls, floors, and ceilings to accommodate pipes and fittings using hand and power tools.
Cut, thread, and bend pipe to required specifications using pipe cutters, torch equipment, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending tools.
Assemble and install various types of pipe, valves, and fittings made of metal (iron, steel, brass, lead) and non-metal materials (plastic, vitrified clay, glass).
Join piping systems using bolts, screws, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and approved sealants.
Fill and pressurize pipe systems with air or water; read gauges to detect leaks and ensure proper operation.
Install, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, tubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, dishwashers, softeners, and disposal units.
Repair plumbing issues by replacing washers, clearing clogged drains, repairing burst pipes, and assessing pipe condition.

We are seeking a skilled and licensed Residential Plumber to manage the installation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of water, drain, waste, and vent (DWV), and gas systems within residential properties. This role requires expertise in plumbing codes, advanced diagnostic skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality plumbing work.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Service & Repair: Promptly and accurately diagnose and repair issues with water heaters (tank and tankless), toilets, faucets, fixtures, garbage disposals, and various plumbing components.
Pipe Installation & Repair: Install, repair, and replace residential piping systems including water (e.g., copper, PEX), drain, waste, and gas lines, ensuring leak-free connections and proper venting.
Fixture Installation: Install new sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, dishwashers, and other plumbing fixtures during remodels or replacements.
Drain Maintenance: Assist with clearing clogs in sinks, toilets, and main lines using basic plumbing tools, and recommend advanced drain services as needed.
Code Compliance: Strictly adhere to all local, state, and national plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards. Secure necessary permits and coordinate inspections.
Water Quality: Install and service water conditioning equipment, such as water softeners and filtration systems.
Customer Experience: Clearly communicate the diagnosis, required scope of work, repair options, and costs to homeowners. Ensure the work area is left clean and tidy upon completion.
Documentation: Accurately complete work orders, invoices, material logs, and time records using company-provided technology.
Emergency Response: Participate in the on-call rotation to provide timely, after-hours emergency plumbing service to clients.

Required Qualifications
Licensure: Current Journeyman or Master Plumber License valid in the state of Kansas & Missouri is required.
Technical Knowledge: Strong, comprehensive working knowledge of all residential plumbing systems, including domestic water, natural gas, and drain-waste-vent (DWV) systems.
Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using plumbing tools, including pipe cutters, torches for soldering/brazing, various wrenches, and diagnostic equipment.
Communication: Excellent verbal communication and professional interaction skills with team members and homeowners.
Mobility: Valid state-issued Driver's License and a clean driving record.
Physical Stamina: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs, handle tools, and maneuver in tight/confined spaces (crawlspaces, under sinks) and in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience specifically performing residential plumbing service and installation work.
Backflow Testing Certification or willingness to obtain immediately.
Experience with advanced water treatment and conditioning systems.
Formal completion of an accredited plumbing apprenticeship program.

TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic II - Plumber
SALARY: $17.50-$23.75/hour (wage determined by years of relevant experience)
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 8 hours/day, 12 months/year (benefits-eligible)
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Maintenance Supervisor.
JOB GOAL: To provide all students with a physical learning environment that is safe, clean, attractive, pleasant, and smoothly-functioning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. As a maintenance carpenter, repair, build, alter, and finish structures, equipment, facilities, and furniture made of or containing word products.
2. Install or fix metal and non-metal fixtures.
3. As a maintenance painter, mix paints, varnish and calcimines, prepare surfaces for painting, erect scaffolds and apply paint with brush or spray equipment.
4. As a maintenance plumber, repair plumbing equipment, water lines, sprinkler systems and hot water heaters.
5. As a maintenance electrician, install, repair or maintain switches, breakers, conduits and electrical motors.
6. As a heat, air-conditioning or refrigeration repairman, replace and repair defective components, pumps, fans, or capacitors, replace or repair leaking lines.
7. As a journeyman glazier, replace glass in doors and windows.
8. Weld basketball frames, goal posts, food carts, automotive equipment, and playground equipment.
9. May operate medium and heavy automotive equipment.
10. Replace concrete and asphalt.
11. Repair and replace roofing.
12. Work as skilled cabinet maker.
13. Repair and maintain boilers.
14. Instruct and check the work of part-time maintenance workers.
15. Such other maintenance duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
16. Regular attendance is required.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Completion of standard high school or trade school course, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
2. Knowledge of standard practices, tools, and terminology of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, locksmithing, refrigeration, air-conditioning, heating electronics and working knowledge of one or more of the trades.
3. Knowledge of the safety hazards of the work.
4. Skill in the use of tools of two trades.
5. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
6. Dependability and good judgment.
7. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued by the State of Kansas.
