Salary Range: $21.39 - $34.44/Hour Purpose of Classification: The purpose of this classification is to perform plumbing installation, maintenance, and repairs in County buildings and facilities. This classification is safety sensitive, subject to random drug testing in accordance with the County's Drug & Alcohol Policy. Essential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. Performs pressure testing on newly installed plumbing systems; inspects to ensure that installation conforms to local, state, and federal codes and regulations and contract specifications; and makes final inspection to ensure all fixtures are in place and property connected. Performs renovations or repairs to swimming pools; monitors pool water, chlorine levels, and sand filters; installs chlorinators and injectors; maintains and/or replaces valves, lint strainers, motors, pumps, filters, and sand; ensures compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations Determines materials and equipment needed to complete work activities; prepares and submits purchase requisitions; orders materials; and maintains related documentation. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; three years of experience in plumbing or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
