Responsibilities * Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, physical conditioning, and teamwork. * Develop and implement training programs tailored to the varying skill levels of student-athletes. * Organize and oversee Track meets, including transportation, logistics, and coordination with other schools. * Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth. * Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations. * Monitor student-athletes' academic performance and encourage a balance between athletics and academics. * Assist in the selection and management of team uniforms and equipment. * Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and competitions. * Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and any incidents that occur during practices or events. * Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current on best practices in coaching and athlete development. Requirements * Previous experience coaching or competing in Track or a related sport is preferred. * Strong knowledge of Track running techniques, training methodologies, and competition strategies. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff. * Ability to motivate and inspire middle school students of various skill levels. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities. * Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season. * A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all student-athletes. * Must pass a background check in accordance with school district policies. * Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends during the Track season.
