Kathy Selker
Northlich

Kathy took an interesting path to a career in agency leadership. She studied economics as an undergrad at the University of Cincinnati, and that social sciences background trained her to look for the motivators that lead people to make the choices they make. She earned her MBA at what is now UC’s Lindner College of Business, a discipline that prepared her to apply consumer behavior principles in the context of business objectives. After a career that included stops at Accenture, Macy’s and Coca-Cola, she joined Northlich in 2000 as chief financial officer, later serving as COO. As president and CEO since 2007, she helps brands and companies understand both the contribution and the cost of their marketing efforts so they can deliver real value to their shareholders and stakeholders. Kathy loves the outdoors and does her best thinking while walking outside. She loves the Cincinnati neighborhoods of Mt. Adams and OTR for their vibrancy and transformation. Kathy’s proudest achievements are her three bright and caring sons, whom she aspires to someday take on a trip to Australia and New Zealand.

Agency Leader. Entrepreneur. Statistician. Outdoor nut. Voracious Reader and Podcast enthusiast. Early-Stage Investor. Introvert. Change Agent. Husband and father. After 21+ years of leading Marketing Architects to billions in revenue (many billions for our clients), I’m still addicted to the scientific marketing process of combining product, message, media, and customer engagement to radically accelerate customer acquisition and growth. The amazing people I work with at Marketing Architects are a talented, collaborative, and cross-functional team leveraging technology + big ideas to consistently and predictably deliver marketing advantage for clients. The highest ‘cost’ in every business we meet is the unknown opportunity cost of not uncovering high-leverage marketing ideas that produce performance breakthroughs. Businesses win big when sustainable marketing innovations are uncovered. Lives change when business wins big. So we are changing lives/careers when we develop breakthrough marketing campaigns.
