    Job Description PMX is seeking a proactive Purchasing Manager to oversee and improve our procurement processes. This role is critical to ensuring we source high-quality materials and services at the best value while maintaining strong supplier relationships. You'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to streamline operations and support our company's strategic goals. As an individual contributor, this position will be responsible for development and implementation of goals and objectives of metal procurement with the corporate goals and objectives, which include: • Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries. • Create and administer the short and long term metals procurement strategy for the Company, including sourcing strategies within the secondary scrap markets. • Ensure material availability through the coordination of sound logistical practice. • Assess and manage risk and/or exposure to metal market fluctuations. • Negotiate and execute contracts with our suppliers and vendors. • Manage purchasing, logistics, inventory and disposal of all materials consistent with policies and identified goals utilizing market information. • Develop, implement and maintain a system for suppliers and vendor approval. • Control costs. • Ensure that all daily, monthly and annual reports and forecasts are completed in a timely manner. • Provide a high level of leadership. • Lead process improvement initiatives. • Develop and ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines. • Ensure compliance with related regulations and maintain relevant files and records. • Provide and maintain a positive work environment. • Coordinate with other organizations and departments as needed to create a team environment. • Coach, mentor, and train purchasing team. • Any other duties as assigned. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field or 5 years' experience in the specialty alloys, technical knowledge of metals, or related industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the specialty alloys, metals or related industry. Excellent communication skills, including written, oral and effective listening to communicate with all levels of the organization. Previous supervisory experience required. Demonstrated leadership experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point). Salary: $90,000-$135,000.     Job Description Safety Specialist Purpose: The Safety Specialist provides leadership in employee safety and health programs in a heavy manufacturing union environment. Perform daily/weekly safety audits. Participate in OSHA investigations and review regulations to ensure policies remain up-to-date for compliance. Review new or trial product paperwork and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS's) for current products. Work with vendors regarding new and existing PPE products, and train personnel and contractors on how to use PPE, and input new hires into PPE vending system. Coordinate and participate in Air and Noise audits/testing. Conduct training for Contractors, review tests, and update Security systems accordingly. Work with vendors to track, order, and troubleshoot employee uniform orders. Conduct monthly safety training, new hire safety orientation, and implement Toolbox Talks. Use online learning management system to set up training programs. Coordinate Union Management Safety Committee meetings, follow up and track open items, and edit and publish meeting minutes. Facilitate annual fire inspections with Cedar Rapids Fire Marshall. Provide medical attention as needed for work and personal medical emergencies, coordinate first aid training for employees, and work with Security during emergency scenarios. Organize monthly air calibrations of personal air and CO monitors with vendors, ensure completion of bump testing, and order replacement parts as needed. Arrange EAP needs with Mercy, and review weekly reports. Order necessary Respiratory PPE, and conduct annual/initial testing. Record overhead crane inspections and quarterly fire and safety audits. Work with vendors to order/use radio equipment. Report and correct unsafe behaviors/acts or work conditions. Assist HR and other groups with tours as necessary for safety purposes. Any other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Requirements: Associate degree in Safety, Business or related field preferred; or 2 years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with OSHA standards, reporting, and compliance. Manufacturing experience preferred. Skill Requirements: General understanding of PCs and related software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point). Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Must be able to communicate in English for all business/job related transactions. Work Environment: Office environment; frequent time spent in the production facilities. Work Schedule: Current opening is for 3rd Shift: 3rd shift: Monday - Friday, 11 PM to 7 AM with on-call rotation. Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 annually commensurate with experience. What You'll Do As an EHS Intern, you will: Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Support compliance activities related to OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards. Help develop and update training materials, safety procedures, and emergency response plans. Analyze EHS data and recommend improvements to reduce incidents and ensure compliance. Complete a capstone intern project and present results to leadership. Qualifications We're seeking motivated students who are ready to learn, grow, and contribute: Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Knowledge of safety principles, environmental regulations, or compliance programs preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Function: An Engineering Designer primary role is to provide internal and external customers with accurate and timely mechanical design drawings, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), writing schematics and 3D models in compliance with company best practices and customer requirements. Scope: * Support design-build projects at all Rasmussen locations from project definition, FARO scan and takeoff/estimating through 3D model, General Arrangements, fabrication drawings, P&IDs and a clean hand-off with project management. * Provide inside engineering support to operations personnel at all RMS locations including drawings and models to engineering standards. * Represent Rasmussen Mechanical Services as the preferred mechanical service provider for customers, employees, and business partners. * Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal legal requirements. Maintain a high level of business ethics. * Prepare preliminary drawings and models as required for equipment, materials, projects, and services. * Support outside sales activities and projects including travel as required with occasional overnight stays. * Adhere to all Rasmussen Drafting standards and promote accuracy and ease of fabrication. * Lead by example through personal compliance with all Company safety policies, procedures, and workplace safety issues and contribute to a safe working environment for all. Verify that all required safety measures are identified and included in estimates and customer proposals. * Challenge the status quo and motivate other team members. Resolve customer concerns and complaints in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner. * Create and maintain organized project drawings, including: * Project Models * General Arrangements * P&IDs * Fabrication drawings * Develop proposal drawings or models for presentation to customers based on preliminary site review and analysis of projects with salesperson or project manager, customers, blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documents. * Conduct equipment inspections and site walkdowns to ensure compliance to project drawings. * Maintain company drafting standards and comply with engineering standards. * Maintain forecast of drawing completion and work with project engineers and project managers to meet customer deadlines. * Work within a team environment across RMS Locations and Departments. Solicit support and communicate effectively with internal staff. * Manage and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction. Provide solutions for performance enhancement and proactive resolution of issues to ensure customer expectations are met. * Maintain excellent relationships with operations and field personnel. * Maintain and improve drafting and design skills, systems awareness, and industry knowledge through self-study, product seminars, company-provided training, and self-improvement courses. * Provide marketing support for project proposals including 3D models and proposal drawings. * Perform other duties as assigned by RMS Management Team. Experience: * Three (3) years of drafting and modeling piping or mechanical systems preferred. * New graduates with academic project or internship experience in drafting/AutoCAD are encouraged to apply. * AutoCAD 3D, Plant 3D experience preferred. Skills: * Ability to create 2D and 3D drawings utilizing AutoCAD platform of tools. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Self-motivated, tactful, organized, results and goal-oriented professional. * Driven by a desire to satisfy customers and provide a high level of customer service. * Computer literate with good working knowledge of office equipment, and procedures. * Above average organizational skills * Excellent time management skills to properly plan the implementation of a project (timely completion of drawings and deliverables) * Great people skills to work closely with engineering, management, sales, purchasing, accounting, and field personnel within the Company; as well as with vendors, customers, subcontractors, etc. outside the Company. * A desire to continually learn new methods; adopt, accept and apply new technology from internal or external resources and continually strive to identify more efficient ways to perform existing processes. Education/Qualifications: * Associate's degree in mechanical design or equivalent professional experience. * Professional and industry-specific certifications and licenses. Physical & Mental Requirements: * Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs. / sit for long periods of time / type / hear / see / speak English clearly / operate business equipment. * Must be able to read / write / spell & calculate.
