Podimetrics CEO and leadership

Dr. Jon Bloom is a board-certified physician and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in technology development, patient monitoring, biomedical research, and health care delivery. He is the chief executive officer of Podimetrics. Previously, Dr. Bloom served as a Clinical Assistant Professor and staff anesthesiologist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He also served as the Director of Global Medical Affairs for Covidien's Respiratory and Monitoring Solutions division in Boulder, Colorado. Prior to his career in medicine Dr. Bloom studied cytochrome P450 drug metabolism at The Scripps Research Institute.

Brian is passionate about improving health outcomes through the development of patient-centered products and services. As Chief Scientist, he oversees the clinical operations, software, and research teams at Podimetrics. Brian has an engineering background with experience using analytics and numerical simulations techniques to build and evaluate advanced defense systems and platforms for the Office of Naval Research and DARPA. Brian is a graduate of the MIT Leaders for Global Operations program and holds a Masters degree in Engineering Systems and an MBA with a concentration in operations management.

Specializes in early-stage product development for medical devices by understanding stakeholder needs from patient to payer, developing new technologies to meet unsolved needs, and integrating electrical, mechanical, and data systems to create products that people want to use. Enjoys leading interdisciplinary teams by implementing system architectures for intuitive designs.
