JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for the strategic approach to purchasing assigned products for POET Design & Construction and as needed, POET Bioprocessing. You will maintain vendor relationships, negotiate the best value for POET, perform strategic analysis and decision-making, become highly knowledgeable and ensure appropriate risk management through thorough execution. The Buyer's role is to provide as much value to POET through negotiation and critical thinking as possible.

Supporting multiple CapEx projects in tandem, at different points in their lifecycle by conducting RFIs, establishing vendor pool, conducting RFQ or RFP for high-critical projects within the CapEx portfolio.
Drives long-term strategies to generate supply chain improvements and efficiencies.
Supports strategies and processes to ensure project timelines, on-time deliveries, and project execution within expectation of project criteria.
Leads, negotiates, and administers contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives to drive best value.
Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and effectively manages deviations from agreement in a timely manner and professional manner.
Establish, supports, maintains risk management strategies.
Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
Fostering relationships with strategic suppliers to create innovative and collaborative partnerships.
Reviews and analyzes records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance, and inventories to drive continuous improvement.
Resolves vendor or contractor issues and claims against suppliers.
Monitors and initiates improvement projects to current processes or policies.
Collaborates with the POET Bioprocessing team members to ensure specifications and quality expectations continue to be met.
Partners with other procurement staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery with excellent customer service to our bioprocessing facilities and construction projects.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Degree in business or technical field and 1-year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
C.P.M. certification preferred but not required.
Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
History of supporting capital expense and/or project procurement efforts.
Prior experience negotiating and executing contracts.
Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability of learning new programs.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Material Handler is responsible for loading Dried Distillers Grains, Bioethanol, POET Distillers Corn Oil, POET Wet Distillers, Distillers Syrup, or Biomass into trucks and rail cars. Team members in this position use mechanical equipment, meters or scales as well as computers and software equipment when loading products to ensure a timely delivery and product safety. Based on training provided, the Material Handler may also complete the grading of grain products or biomass.
Load trucks and rail cars with feed and fuel products of POET bioprocessing facilities using mechanical equipment, meters and scales as required to ensure timely delivery of products.
Assist with grain product or biomass and supply truck unloading functions.
Complete the grading of grain products or biomass using training provided.
Operate large machinery and equipment; may be required to obtain DOT certification.
Maintain a clean work area.
Enter bins adhering to POET's confined space procedures.
Complete HAZMAT paperwork when necessary.
Learn, maintain, and operate all processes associated with the grains operation, including repair and maintenance.
Remove, install, rebuild, lubricate, and clean all equipment associated with the grains process.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks as directed.
Be required to work outdoors, on weekends and holidays.
Must be able to meet call-in requirements as well as work extended hours as necessary.
Assist with running the bioprocessing facility scale house and learn required software applications.

This position is largely self-directed and requires a thorough understanding of company policy, procedures, and values.
Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements at all times and in all work environments. This position is exposed to work in multiple environments, including plant, laboratory, as well as an office environment. The team member may be exposed to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and chemicals.
Due to the physical and safety-sensitive nature of this job, you will be subject to a physical and expected to pass a drug screen during the pre-screen process. During employment, you'll be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

The Plant Technician is responsible for the operation of all plant processing equipment and performing routine basic maintenance in a highly automated chemical facility. In the area of maintenance, Plant Technicians are responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, basic repair, and cleaning of all equipment associated with bioprocessing processes. At times, Plant Technicians may be asked to assist Maintenance Technicians in more technical and complex maintenance procedures. Team members in this position are required to maintain knowledge of the process flow, computerized equipment, and be aware of hazards associated with the process as well as understand and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs). Continuous plant operation requires 12-hour shift work. Plant Technicians must be able to adapt to 12-hour workdays and be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.

Perform maintenance and basic repairs of plant equipment and document these activities.
Operate the DCS (Distributed Control System) for the plant.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Superintendent shall execute onsite management of capital construction and engineering projects under the direction of a Project Manager or Director of Project Management. The Project Superintendent will assist in the execution of the scope of work and schedule of the assigned projects.

Maintain a safe work record within the group and on project sites. Promote Safety Management culture on all project sites.

Keep project drawings updated and make sure contractors are aware of any and all changes made to the design of the project.
Hold weekly site progress meetings to discuss safety, open issues, and plan for upcoming work.
Keep office personnel updated on the status of the jobsite through distribution of meeting minutes.
Keep updated records of open issues and changes encountered in the field so that they can be forwarded to the office and documented on the as-built drawings.
Keep daily construction logs and permit compliance logs up to day.
Responsible for receiving and organizing all materials and equipment delivered to the site for the purpose of constructing the project. Duties include but are not limited to:
Establish and organize adequate lay-down areas for materials and equipment.
Document receipt of all materials on site and its distribution to the proper contractor.
Maintain a warehouse for storing and tracking parts and fittings.
Change Order authorization and verification.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient repair, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of all equipment associated with plant processes. Team members in this position will also perform maintenance tasks on all plant equipment. Maintenance Technicians are accountable for communicating any issues to the management team. Work collaboratively to prepare bio-based process technology designs including, but not limited to: Block flow diagrams, Process flow diagrams, Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), Material and energy balances, Design selection, Specifying equipment (heat exchangers, pumps, control valves, pressure relief valves, distillation columns, scrubbers, separators, utilities, etc), Development of commissioning and operating procedures
Communicate with vendors and contractors on various projects, including bid packages, specifications, ordering materials and equipment, and aiding in installation oversight all within a set budget and schedule.

The Material Handler is responsible for loading Dried Distillers Grains, Bioethanol, POET Distillers Corn Oil, POET Wet Distillers, Distillers Syrup, or Biomass into trucks and rail cars. Learn, maintain, and operate all processes associated with the grains operation, including repair and maintenance.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Plant Engineering Intern works closely with the Plant Manager and the Maintenance Manager to maximize efficiencies of plant operations while optimizing plant run time. The Plant Engineering Intern troubleshoots and identifies process needs to maintain production levels and assists in the development of predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
This is an on-site role located in Chancellor, SD. Some or all of the following projects/research/initiatives relating to plant operations may be assigned throughout the duration of the internship:
Efficiencies
Maintenance
Process Optimization
Operations
Compile & Analyze data
Location-specific research
Environmental Compliance
Additional responsibilities include:
Work with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager on operation/troubleshooting issues, as well as efforts to review and enhance predictive maintenance programs.
Work with the maintenance department and outside vendors to assist in the ongoing development of the preventative maintenance program. The Plant Engineering Intern will determine applicable equipment, necessary tools, and required inspection frequencies.
Work with the management team to further strengthen and develop plant operating procedures.
Maintain confidentiality relating to projects and processes.
Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Junior or Senior-level student enrolled full-time at an accredited 4-year college/university pursuing a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering.
Must be able to work a variety of shifts, minimum of 40 hours/week.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to adapt to change
Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new programs.
Bonus points: familiarity or experience with DCS control and DCS historian systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role has some physical requirements that our team members will need to be able to perform, such as:
Occasionally lifting weight up to sixty (60) pounds.
Climbing several flights of stairs and ladders.
Opening valves.
Occasionally bending, twisting and turning while lifting weight of less than fifty (50) pounds.
Data entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour.
Walking up to two (2) or more miles per day
Pushing brooms, shovels, etc.
Working at heights, in confined spaces and at temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees.
Standing for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasional travel will be part of the norm for this position. At times, overnight travel may be required.
Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements at all times and in all work environments. This position is exposed to work in multiple environments, including plant, laboratory, as well as an office environment. The team member may be exposed to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and chemicals.
