As a Buyer, you will be responsible for the strategic approach to purchasing assigned products for POET Design & Construction and as needed, POET Bioprocessing. Supporting multiple CapEx projects in tandem, at different points in their lifecycle by conducting RFIs, establishing vendor pool, conducting RFQ or RFP for high-critical projects within the CapEx portfolio.
Drives long-term strategies to generate supply chain improvements and efficiencies.
Supports strategies and processes to ensure project timelines, on-time deliveries, and project execution within expectation of project criteria.
Leads, negotiates, and administers contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives to drive best value.
Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and effectively manages deviations from agreement in a timely manner and professional manner.
Establish, supports, maintains risk management strategies.
Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
Fostering relationships with strategic suppliers to create innovative and collaborative partnerships.
Reviews and analyzes records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance, and inventories to drive continuous improvement.
Resolves vendor or contractor issues and claims against suppliers.
Monitors and initiates improvement projects to current processes or policies.
Collaborates with the POET Bioprocessing team members to ensure specifications and quality expectations continue to be met.
Partners with other procurement staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery with excellent customer service to our bioprocessing facilities and construction projects.

Each day, when we show up to work at POET Bioproducts it's our job to market and transport, as efficiently as possible, about 20,000 tons of our high quality feed products from our bio-processing facilities to our valued customers who happen to be located all over the globe. We use trucks, trains, barges and ocean vessels to make this happen and as a Merchandising Coordinator it will be your role to ensure our products get to where they need to get to when our customers need it. JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and identifying root-cause issues, repairing or replacing parts and rewiring and installing related instrument/electrical goods at the bioprocessing facility. The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician ensures that all work performed follows electrical codes and tests and inspects and repairs issues when they occur. Team members in this position will communicate any problems or concerns to the management team. This role is also responsible for reviewing all electrical procedures for the bioprocessing facility, assisting in developing pertinent electrical programs and training team members. Continuous plant operation includes 24/7 schedules. Team member must be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.
DURING A TYPICAL DAY
Troubleshoot and identify a root cause, repair, or replace parts, rewire and install related instrument/electrical goods including conduit and/or wiring.
Ensure that all work performed is completed by following all local electrical codes. Including 4160V, 480V, 220V, 110V, 24V DC and 4-20 mA loops and circuits as applicable to the location.
Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O including 4-20mA loops, 120V/24DC I/O.
Responsible for all preventative and proactive electrical maintenance and compliance procedures.
Assist with emergency and scheduled shutdowns while performing regular mechanical duties as directed.
Calibrate, configure, and repair of measurement/control instruments for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and pH including associated valves and valve actuators.
Understand electrical and instrumentation equipment associated with plant processing equipment.
Possess a strong understanding of motor control circuits and electric motors.
Inform management of any instrument/electrical parts needed and assist with maintaining the required instrument/electronic/electrical parts inventories.
Document and record: utilizing inventory control systems, maintaining calibration records, ordering parts, work with outside contractors, etc.
Work with the management team and all staff daily to ensure the operation and all facilities are operating to standards.
Understand how equipment and instrument/electronic controls operate and are utilized to operate the plant.
Maintain work area to include cleanliness, serviceability, and accountability of all tools and supplies.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Plant Technician is responsible for the operation of all plant processing equipment and performing routine basic maintenance in a highly automated chemical facility. In the area of maintenance, Plant Technicians are responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, basic repair, and cleaning of all equipment associated with bioprocessing processes. At times, Plant Technicians may be asked to assist Maintenance Technicians in more technical and complex maintenance procedures. Continuous plant operation requires 12-hour shift work. Plant Technicians must be able to adapt to 12-hour workdays and be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.

Perform maintenance and basic repairs of plant equipment and document these activities.
Operate the DCS (Distributed Control System) for the plant.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements at all times and in all work environments. This position is exposed to work in multiple environments, including plant, laboratory, and office environments. You may be exposed to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and chemicals.
Due to the physical and safety-sensitive nature of this job, you will be subject to a physical and expected to pass a drug screen during the pre-screen process. During employment, you'll be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
This role has some physical requirements that our team members will need to be able to perform, such as:
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hazardous material suits, hearing protection, and harness.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Superintendent shall execute onsite management of capital construction and engineering projects under the direction of a Project Manager or Director of Project Management. The Project Superintendent will assist in the execution of the scope of work and schedule of the assigned projects.

Maintain a safe work record within the group and on project sites. Promote Safety Management culture on all project sites.

Keep office personnel updated on the status of the jobsite through distribution of meeting minutes.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Engineer assists in the development and management of multiple capital construction and engineering projects under the direction of a Project Manager or the Director of Project Management. Review warranty claims and resultant warranty process with the Project Manager and provide recommendations.
Create detailed construction schedules for use by Engineers, Project Superintendents, and sub-contractors. Update the construction schedules to show deviation from baseline information and communicate changes in a timely manner to the Project Manager.
Routinely update the Engineering staff on the progress of current and future construction projects through detailed progress reports and staff meetings.
Monitor construction activity at the construction sites and check for accuracy according to plans, enforce construction safety, and pursue ways to improve efficiency and sequencing.
Attend or occasionally lead pre-bid and pre-construction meetings for contracts issued for each project.
Occasionally provide detailed project estimates to the Project Manager.
Coordinate the project commissioning, including the internal start-up team, sub-contractors, and vendors. Participate in the project commissioning process and personnel through contractual completion.
Create and manage project punch lists and work with the Project Superintendents and others to complete these tasks.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient repair, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of all equipment associated with plant processes. Team members in this position will also perform maintenance tasks on all plant equipment. Maintenance Technicians are accountable for communicating any issues to the management team. JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Plant Engineering Intern works closely with the Plant Manager and the Maintenance Manager to maximize efficiencies of plant operations while optimizing plant run time. The Plant Engineering Intern troubleshoots and identifies process needs to maintain production levels and assists in the development of predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
This is an on-site role located in Chancellor, SD. Some or all of the following projects/research/initiatives relating to plant operations may be assigned throughout the duration of the internship:
Efficiencies
Maintenance
Process Optimization
Operations
Compile & Analyze data
Location-specific research
Environmental Compliance
Additional responsibilities include:
Work with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager on operation/troubleshooting issues, as well as efforts to review and enhance predictive maintenance programs.
Work with the maintenance department and outside vendors to assist in the ongoing development of the preventative maintenance program. The Plant Engineering Intern will determine applicable equipment, necessary tools, and required inspection frequencies.
Work with the management team to further strengthen and develop plant operating procedures.
Maintain confidentiality relating to projects and processes.
Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Junior or Senior-level student enrolled full-time at an accredited 4-year college/university pursuing a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering.
Must be able to work a variety of shifts, minimum of 40 hours/week.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to adapt to change
Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new programs.
Bonus points: familiarity or experience with DCS control and DCS historian systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role has some physical requirements that our team members will need to be able to perform, such as:
Occasionally lifting weight up to sixty (60) pounds.
Climbing several flights of stairs and ladders.
Opening valves.
Occasionally bending, twisting and turning while lifting weight of less than fifty (50) pounds.
Data entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour.
Walking up to two (2) or more miles per day
Pushing brooms, shovels, etc.
Working at heights, in confined spaces and at temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees.
Standing for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasional travel will be part of the norm for this position. At times, overnight travel may be required.
Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements at all times and in all work environments. This position is exposed to work in multiple environments, including plant, laboratory, as well as an office environment. The team member may be exposed to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and chemicals.
