Assist in the development and integration of electronic controllers and components for systems such as enginecontrol modules, gateways, brake controllers, infotainment/connected, vehicle control modules and wireless modules, ensuring that all electrical components work together seamlessly to deliver optimal performance, reliability, and safety. Translate business tasks and engineering attributes into vehicle-level system requirements and documentation in both natural language and Simulink model-based (including Simulation) environments that can be distributed across external and internal development teams for implementation. Perform detailed studies and trade-off analysis of vehicle software controlsystems with an emphasis on safety, reliability, and cost. Focus on platform-based strategy designs that meet both the immediate needs of the business unit as well as the perceived or real future needs of Polaris. Participate in and/or lead design reviews and ensure the controlsystem design meets electrical system requirements. Interface with and guides cross-functional teams such as Electrical, Mechanical, Powertrain, Service, Manufacturing, Software, Purchasing and external suppliers as needed ensuring
overall technical execution is meeting program expectations. Ensure system design practices incorporate process improvements to align with Functional Safety goals/standards. This may include leading/participating in Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA), Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), etc. Support internal test team to develop, document, and execute system and vehicle-level validation plans/procedures and resolution of issues found. Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of vehicle controlssystems when issues arise.
Telecommuting permitted. 10% domestic travel is required throughout the U.S.
Position Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software and ControlsEngineering, or related field plus 2 years of experience. Required experience must include any amount of experience with all of the following:
Design or implementation of controls related to vehicle controls, diagnostics, or communication.
Vehicle architectures.
Vehicle communication networks including Classic CAN with 1939 or UDS protocol.
Formal requirement generation and systems modeling in Matlab or Simulink.
Electrical or software test and analysis equipment.

Job Summary
The Telecom Engineer role will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and management of all call routing within Lightpath. The engineer will need to work independently to ensure compliance with industry updates and guidelines. Ensuring the highest call completion ratios and optimal routing for both inbound and outbound calls via Lightpath's voice peering partners. The role will also participate in ongoing network architecture discussions around voice routing and trunking solutions.
Responsibilities
Manage telecom routings to ensure proper call routing and completion.
Utilize industry standard LERG database to identify routing updates.
Design, implement, and maintain call routing policies across all switching platforms.
Contribute to telecom engineering and planning strategies for network enhancements.

Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of telecom hardware and carrier-based services (i.e.: PSTN Interconnection, Centrex, Hosted Voice, Enterprise Trunking).
Knowledge of the principles of traffic engineering, i.e.: Erlang calculations, trunk ratios, and network architectural technology.
Working knowledge of network signaling protocols (SS7, SIGTRAN, ISUP, SIP, H.248).
Strong problem-solving skills including root cause analysis, defining options for resolutions, and the ability to clearly articulate the options to internal technical and business individuals and third-party vendors.

Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of our flexible end-to-end data acquisition and controls stack (hardware and software) supporting testing across Vast's engineering teams
Adhere to, enforce, and improve the test processes and good practices of Vast and the test organization
Own design, build, and commission facilities, and vehicle level DAQ systems. This includes the manufacture of new test stands and/or operation of existing resources
