Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs competent break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devices in operation to determine root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; and performing troubleshooting and repair of electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.
Identifies parts, supplies, and repair items as necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
With minimal instruction, performs maintenance as per industry standards.
Works with customer counterparts to execute maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.
May be required to set up and operate multiple machining operations, including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.
Conforms and complies with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes
Documents work performed in service reports, and applicable management systems.
Performs routine processes with and within industrial control systems to troubleshoots and analyzes complex equipment, perform equipment maintenance, and to resolve equipment problems.
Utilizes in-depth application of electrical, mechanical, and fluid power aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:
Essential KSAs:
High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
Associates degree with a Technical focus and 5 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 7 years of experience in specific industry.
Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
Possesses working knowledge and experience regarding electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems in related fields. Can analyze the problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs
Extensive travel required. (Local, National, International).
Desirable KSAs:
Experience in preventative maintenance techniques, precision measuring, mechanical alignments, and general maintenance of applicable process equipment.
Exposure to programmable logic controllers, field devices, and electrical drive and motor systems.

The Cooling Field Service Engineer is responsible for commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing cooling systems in the data center. The role involves traveling to client sites, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and delivering high-quality service to maximize customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Commission, inspect, and service cooling systems and related equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance, testing, and calibration of cooling systems.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues; carry out necessary repairs and adjustments.
Respond to customer service calls, provide on-site technical solutions, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Provide technical training and support to clients on system operation and best practices.
Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to provide feedback for product improvements.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
Manage spare parts, tools, and equipment efficiently.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and uphold high service quality standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration, HVAC Technology, or related field.
Proven experience in servicing HVAC/refrigeration/cooling systems.
Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical components.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to travel frequently and work independently.
Certification in HVAC/R or relevant trade license (preferred).
Familiarity with industry standards (ASHRAE, EPA, F-Gas, etc.) is a plus.
Working Conditions

On-call availability for emergency support.

SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of all industrial equipment, including HVAC packaging units, chiller/cooling tower systems, boilers, fluid pumping systems, reverse osmosis and DI water systems, waste water treatment, and chemical delivery systems; overseeing the roof maintenance program, including inspection, cleaning or removing debris, and overseeing contracted services; performing all regular scheduled or unscheduled electrical, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance to the interior or exterior of the facility. This position is located in Milpitas, California.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs both scheduled and unscheduled electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs or maintenance to the interior or exterior of the facility
Performs both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of HVAC units, including packaging units, chiller/cooling tower systems; performs minor repairs to automation or environmental controls as needed
Reads, understands, and interprets schematic drawings such as hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, or plumbing diagrams
Enters, updates, and tracks work orders using in-house software application to ensure standards for customer service are consistently met
Uses power tools, calibration equipment, and other small hand tools to repair equipment, machinery, etc.
Oversees contracted repair services for preventative maintenance of the facility, such as roof repairs, equipment, life safety, and general maintenance to the building
Responds to requests from employees and departments regarding facilities-related issues or support
Works scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required
Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level*
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Five years of experience working in facilities, construction, plumbing, or similar background in a technician role
Industrial or Electrical Controls Systems Certification Preferred
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and ability to perform routine electrical, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance and repair

The hourly rate for this full-time position is between $27.82-$55.20 + bonus target + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician works both indoors and outdoors on either A, C or D shift. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed. May occasionally work in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom (bunny) suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. May be exposed to hazardous conditions, chemicals, fumes, and/or gases during the course of work day; may be exposed to loud noise; may work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts. Stands and walks, bends, twists, and crawls; May occasionally be required to work in crawl spaces, shafts, or other areas that could cause claustrophobia. Performs various fine grasping movements; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment; may occasionally drive a forklift. Responds to after hours emergencies as required. May occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 30 pounds.

What you will do
You will increase market share by strategically selling Johnson Controls' HVAC products and services to commercial customers. In this program you will have a chance to apply your technical engineering knowledge and business acumen to work with customers to better understand their product and project needs by being the subject matter expert. Pay Range: $24.00-$35.10 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities
* Assist the Branch and Regional Service Manager with organizing and managing daily workflow.
* Help identify and prioritize shop issues and concerns.
* Inspect, service, and repair a wide variety of construction rental equipment ensuring that units are maintained per Milton Rents standards & requirements
* Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drive components, and other mechanical systems.
* Exhibit positive and effective interaction with customers, fellow employees, Management and Equipment manufacturers.
* Uphold safety practices and standards.
* Maintain accurate records as it relates to repair orders, parts ordering, and time keeping.
* Must be both efficient and thorough with all repairs and rental check-in.
* Maintain a clean work area and keep tools in proper working condition.
* Maintain and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Complete and submit all paperwork required by shop management in the requested timeframes.
Qualifications
* High-school diploma or GED is required.
* 3+ years of verifiable experience as a Construction Rental Equipment Mechanic.
* Valid Driver License
* Knowledge of safe operation of Construction Rental Equipment
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; proficient in mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.)
* Able to lift 30 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 80 pounds independently or with assistance.
* Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
